Bin the useless RE/Ethics classes.
Teach home economics again, add in education on mortgages, renting, banking, taxes, pensions etc.

Teaching people to improve their hardships is the key to bettering their lives and the lives of future generations, we need to stop enabling people and start educating people to help themselves.

Lee is right. Put basic ingredients such as flour, eggs, lard, dry pasta, herbs, veg etc. And a bero cook book in a bag and see how many take it. I am guessing not many!

I come from a single parent family with two siblings in the 70’s and we were poor. But my mum made fruit pies, curries, stews, salads, etc etc.

I agree train them from school when you control your money you control your life, proper cooking and budgeting is essential they are not teaching this in school, they prefer to teach you what a woman is

He was right! She is wrong! She knows it all she thinks! Interrupts but does not like being interrupted.

That Amy has never been near a Food bank and a self-righteous Liberal thinking she knows best.
It basically comes down to Labour Lefties and Liberals want dependency on the state because you have control over the individual. A person who is not dependent on others also have the freedom to think for themselves.
Or in a case like a country the UK not controlled by the EU.

People taking handouts, I don't know...next you'll be telling me there's subsidised food and bar in Westminster.

People have started using more takeaway. They have the latest phone, but food poverty? It has an obesity, diabetes problem, but can’t suggest a cooking course?

If foodbanks exist the government has failed to do its job.

If personal experience is anything to go by, there is a large number of people who can't be bothered to cook. And I bet they are the first in line for the handouts.

This is side stepping the issue and solution!! They are basically saying this is how it is now! Get used to it and adapt!! The government need to step back from global organisations that don't have our country's peoples best interests in mind! Stop the Green agenda and stop the green taxes, this would be a start!!!

"Blame the poor people" that women needs a reality check there are people in this country that are struggling on a daily basis not just "poor people" (her context)even hard working class people are finding it really hard at the moment, how dare you while you sit in your nice house and mp's do not have a clue what it is like for us the public having to earn and graft for everything. Just tell me does she actually do anything to help the public or like politicians just help herself.

in New Zealand, we have the same problem...just giving food bags to people solves very little...it was found that it was a waste of time giving certain items like flour, eggs or any cooking ingredient...because many people can't cook ..it ended up being pre prepared food or vouchers for pizzas....for heavens sake .there was even a lift out in a national publication showing how to make a sandwich....having a phone that can give you all the information in the world is no help[ if you don't know what question to ask
