Totally agree, especially for the scissors, I use them more often than the blade

Great video! The Compact is my favorite EDC knife, too. With only two layers it´s got everything I need. I love the nail file on the back of the hook. The Compact is the only Victorinox with this feature. But I even improved its capabilities by modding the scales. I opened the hidden third slot and shortened the toothpick to go in there. In the original toothpick slot I keep the FireFly ferro rod. The corkscrew holds some DIY spiral tinder plus the green mini Phillips screwdriver (by Victorinox). In the pin hole I store a needle like You do, but next to it I drilled a second pin hole for the original pin. Between the blade and the combo tool there´s a gap to hold a paperclip securely. And finally the hook houses a small round magnet (3 x 2 mm). In the keyring there´s my lanyard plus a safety pin. I want to give credit to Felix Immler; his YouTube channel offers a ton of tips.

Super Tinker is my go-to. I haven’t used a corkscrew in 30 years carrying a knife

Very good idea on the needles, specially where to store it besides the pin hole.

great ideas to hide the needle, I will definitely use it, because the needle can also be used as a COMPAS...

The compact is very, well, compact and good for going around town, but I think consideration could also be given to the sportsman. It's a little bit shorter. It can't be number one to me, because I would miss the scissors and the pen, but the smaller size size is also appealing. I think a good runner-up would be one. They don't make any more, the traveler!

Thank you for making such a fun video! I might start keeping a sewing needle in my tweezers.

Nice video! I also use the Compact for urban edc, and also changed the pin for a needle. But I keep a sewing thread coiled on the glasses screwdriver. That works fine and keep the whole kit even more compact.

Good idea with the needle, thanks! Going to try that out on my Climber. I like the Compact but I find that I use the secondary small blade on the Climber a lot, particularly for opening packaging, and I prefer the 2 openers/drivers to the combotool. But I can see the appeal of the Compact. Can't go wrong with Victorinox.

Man, I quite like the inventive solutions you keep sharing with us. The capsule on a laniard is very clever.

I just bought this one from your Amazon store yesterday. I’m excited!

Agreed! More SAKs should ditch the cap lifter/can opener for the combo tool

Instead of messing with all that pill bottle jazz for a needle and thread, you can just buy one of those sewing packets that are flat and fit in a wallet because who leaves the house without a wallet in an urban environment.

I've never been a fan of Swiss army knives. Or multi tools in general. But recently I found a Cyber Tool S at a yard sale for $5 so I bought it anyways. It turns out I really like it. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be and it easily fits in my pocket. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't have a pair of scissors. I'd much rather have that than the pen blade.

Great video! The Compact is great. Companion adds more weight and width but more features. IMO the tradeoff is worth it. Much better than the Climber. One layer thicker than the Compact, but you get a file and package opener and awl. You lose can opening but this is not a camping knife.

In fact, I added a Cybertool layer to my Companion. Takes the screwdriving options from 2 to 10. The knife is about the size of a Ranger (23mm and 118g).

Good fresh perspective of the Compact… I am always trying slim profile multitools; however, I always see myself coming back to the Compact. Question does that container can hold a bit driver? I need a small phillips and torks handy

For my urban EDC knife I went with the Victoria Knox mini champ it has a ballpoint pen instead of the toothpick, tweezers, bottle opener, scissors, a magnetic tip Phillips head number 2, pin knife blade, cuticle tool, flathead screwdriver with measuring stick along it, orange peeler, exacto blade, nail cleaner/nail filer, and keyhole loop. Fits in the pocket doesn't weigh it down. Check it out

If you don't have a pin hole in your scales behind the corkscrew it's easy to make one.

I took off the scales then heated a needle up over a stove until it was glowing hot (holding it with pliers). Then I lightly pressed the needle into the position I'd marked on the inside of the scales. It melted a perfect pinhole. If there's any excess plastic where it was melted take it off with a utility knife and pop the scales back on. Now you have a pinhole. Worked for me.

Hi, great video, thanks. Nice idea, the container. I fully agree with you: Best urban EDC = Victorinox Compact, I love this knife. For outdoor, I consider the Huntsman as more appropriate.

Where did you find your leather sheath for your knife and flashlight?
