Nice explanation ..
But I don't understand.. How current flows towards earthing point of source transformer only?? Why it is not diverted to any other path (as earth has such huge cross section) ... There will be many conducting objets present in between fault location and earthing point of transformer.. Then why and how it is only goes to earth point of transformer only???

So if i drive a ground rod 8 feet into some random yard near a transformer, then run a hot wire to a lightbulb and connect the ground to the lightbulb also, it will turn on?
