2:00 -> Untrue, vast majority of children go to kindergarten in Finland, still when using diapers, as soon as they can walk. It is an unfavored exception to raise your children without letting them get used to being part of the group as what happens in kindergartens. And commonly they go to school at the age of 6-7.

So nice to hear about your memories from Finland. As a Finn who used to live abroad (US, Italy, UK) for years I can understand why you would have chosen those experiences. There is just something more rudimentary about our society in comparison to older and larger cultures/societies.

However, one thing I think was missing from your account was the Finnish preference for honesty and avoidance of hypocrisy (we are not Godly of course, but on average we manage well on this regard). This was always one of the most difficult things for me when adjusting to the three aforementioned cultures.

A few things wrong here. First of all most finns own cars, many own even two as a good chunk of our population is rural. We start school at 7, not 8 and we have free daycare from age 1 (optional) and free pre-school the year before school. Most kids go to daycare from about 3-4 years old as that's usually when both the mother and father has taken out their maternity leave and both of them usually return to work, very few parents are stay at home moms or dads in Finland.
It is a common misconception that finns don't have homework, as a matter of fact we do, just not very much, we get about 10-15 minutes of homework, though rarely on weekends at least where I live.
Great video though!

I am from Finland and we start school when where 7 years old and we have homework. We don’t have so much homework we have more and more as we get older.❤ When I started school we had homework every day exept on Fridays but totally not every school had that system. I think that we have a pretty goog education system.🇫🇮 I can have some mistakes on my spelling cose I’m from Finland and I don’t speak English.

When you go into "avanto" or "the hole in the ice" you never jump in. You always go down the ladder. The hole might close on you a little bit because of the freeze so it's safer 👌

So a farmers market? I’ve yet to live in a town without one. We have one in almost every single town in the U.S.

Really beautiful. I injured my leg three weeks ago. I called social-office many times because I had no food. I could not wash my clothes so I had no clean clothes.
Nobody helped me. This is Finland. I have lived here all my life and I am 46 years.
