Wow. Probably one of the best productivity app review and comparison videos I've ever seen. Well done Lucas. I can see how much time, thought and effort has gone into this.

the best comparison video between todoist and tick tick (indeed, among all ticktick review videos) on youtube - love your approach to analyse side by side with GTD system. keep up your great work!

Abraços do Brasil!!

Amazing review! Well organized and thorough. I especially like that you took the time to ask about the company behind the app. Thanks!

This is an excellent breakdown! 2 Points!

I've used ticktick in the past and dropped it because I found myself not using it as much at the time. Now I'm feeling the itch of a task manager and ticktick seems to be the best for me, though I do like the more transparancy that todoist has but I like ticktick's feature set. Specifically curious to see if ticktick can also replace habitory.

Hello, fellow geek nerd. I stumbled onto your video tonight. I've been watching these kinds of videos for years. This video is by far the best, most detailed, and informative, side-by-side comparison video I've seen. I subscribed. Keep up the good work.

Best comparison I've found yet as I try to make sense of all these app, you're doing the lord's work and I hope you get more views and subs.

One of things I prefer about Todoist's Quick Add feature is that regardless of what context you're in when you hit 'Q' to add something, it always starts with just putting it in the Inbox UNLESS you provide additional attributes like a list, tag or date. TickTick will look at the list or filter you're currently in and add certain attributes based on your current context when you hit Tab+N. Sometimes I'll be in a particular list or filter and think of some task to add that is completely unrelated to the context I'm in, so I'll have to remove the tag or change the list or remove the day. Or I have to do "GI" to switch me to Inbox and then Tab+N. So I prefer Todoist's approach there!

Superb comparison and the right result. I am a paid user of both apps for more than 4 years and keep switching back and forth when I get bored. Tick tick had responded to all my queries till date though a few replies were delayed. I prefer tick tick due to their pomodoro functionality, both start and end date availability, time estimation, check lists and better outlook integration which captures details under description. Even the sorting in tick tick as groups gives a better interface. Tick tick also has a plan your day feature which can be run multiple times a day. But if you are using a free version of the apps, todoist gives you more options now than tick tick which was not the case earlier. I also like the Karma feature in todoist compared to tick tick statistics. Language processing is also better in todoist and the interface and ease of use for todoist mobile apps are better whereas I like the desktop interface of tick tick. If you have similar subtasks under different tasks, which is very common, in todoist, you would go nuts in the Day views. Todoist have addins even for the mobile outlook app.

Great job, Lucas! I also compared the two apps, though not as in-depth as you did. What sealed the deal for me was TickTick's impressive calendar interface. I'm baffled as to why Todoist hasn't incorporated a comprehensive calendar, given that's how many of us plan and organize daily tasks. You made a valid point about TickTick's privacy concerns and its origins in China. If it's not transparent, it likely stems from China. If Todoist introduces a good calendar feature, I'll immediately make the switch.

By far this is the best productivity software review ever. Thank you Lucas for it.

I used Ticktick for a long time but moved to Todoist after getting fed up with Ticktick’s very slow updating of my Google Calendar entries. I’m very happy I moved to Todoist, even more so since I worked out how to import my calendar entries into it.

Great compare. One thing I found with my limited use of tick tick was that it had lots of bells and whistles but the usage was very inconsistent and it wasn't as polished as todoist.

Longtime Todoist user here. But I just subbed to TickTick. Just seemed like I was bumping up against limits in Todoist. Good review!

First time I've see a reviewer looking at the company that is offering the app. That can be a very important issue for some people - it surprises me at times how some people will jump on the newest app (especial those dealing with financial and other sensitive information) without considering the company values. Thanks for including that in this excellent comparison.

This video is very rare kind of intellectual work on youtube. Narration, criteria, structure, even picture making impression of a well-organized academic mind trained on many researches. You should teach other people to make videos.
