This is very relevant in today. A lot of women say outrageous stuff today before they learn facts. I say that as a woman. I love this verse for that reason.

a lot of people immediately make the assumption that Paul is saying men are better than women. the word "Helper" used in Genesis when God gives Adam a helper, Eve, is the same word that is used to describe the Holy Ghost, which is the Helper. and the word "helper" that is used means "is strong where you are weak". women are strong where men are weak, just as the Holy Spirit is strong where humans are weak

This was about being silent in churches, meaning that women are not allowed to usurp authority in the church and preach in the pulpit. If you move on to Paul's next point, he refers back to GOD'S structure of how he created Adam before Eve. Meaning that Adam is the head, he leads, his wife assists him. It's not the other way around. In the bible GOD'S structure of his church is this: GOD is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of Man, Man is the head of Woman, and Woman is the helper of Children, that's why women are supposed to teach the children.

The answer that he provides is a bit misleading in regards to the point of her question, but all in all he was right on the point that women are allowed to speak about the gospel of Jesus Christ outside of the church. But while inside of the church, they are to simply assist and serve the people around them, not be in charge of teaching and being authoritative figures over the men.

When Jesus talked about the kingdon of God to the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, she told many in her village the messiah had come, and many were saved. Why do you think he chose a non jewish woman to reveal himself to? When Jesus done this he was showing the world that both men and women can spread the good news. This is what i told my niece when she asked me if she could preach, when her dad read this same verse to her, and made her cry.
