Environmentally-friendly, sustainable weed burner: Draper 2000W electric weed burner review

Earlier this summer, we reviewed Go System's gas weed burner. The benefit of gas weed burners is that they offer you freedom to use it where you want to with higher burning temperatures. On the flip side, they use a fossil fuel base. So we were extremely excited to try out Draper's 2000W electric weed burner.

you don't need to burn away the weed, just hold the burner over the weed for a second or two the leaves will turn glossy at that point the weed is dead, after a few days it will shrivel and dry out

A very helpful video. A meter cord???? most weeds are taller than that. However, the glorified hair dryer explained it well. I see good possibilities with it, however. Thanks for posting.

I use this stuff only for things I can't pull out. I think just grabbing weed and pulling it out is faster and you get the roots as well.
I would like to see a 15kW version of this though.

Excellent review, on a point of safety a coiled extension lead should be fully unwound in use (to avoid overheating) as this tool is drawing 2Kw

as below, your aim is to thermal shock the weeds, then walk away, your not trying to toast your weeds. And beats breathing in chemicals just for the rain to wash them off the weeds the next day or two

I love the idea about this product but I am really fearful that a smoldering plant can catch on fire and then spread. Any thoughts? And I did not know that vinegar and salt also kills weeds. Does it kill grassAs well?

It kills the photocells in the leaves, and exhausts the roots in a few days. You don't need to spend long any weed, and you don't need to burn it entirely like the gas one.

You should not block the air, it should be used from a distance

you're burning leaves, not killing plants. weed leaves needs to be heated not scorched.
