Thoughts on Caesar's Palace?
Would you stay here?

Caesar's choice to charge extra for the pool after already charging resort fees is a good example of what is taking place nowadays across the country: the creation of a class system to glorify those who want to be seen as super rich. The result is that the rest of us who thought we already paid good money feel like peasants in an overcrowded pool. Not a good business model, imho.

With 2 years “off” for the pandemic, there has been ample time to maintain the property and make every room pristine. No excuses!

I feel like since the pandemic, many places have become lazier and greedier - from hotels to restaurants. It's not acceptable. I thought you were very diplomatic towards Caeser's Ruby. Not being permitted to use the main pool as a paying guest is appalling and that, in itself, would deter me from staying there.

"Don't get me wrong." I fully understand your statement, Ruby. I have been a Diamond level card holder before, yet I still did not stay at Caesar's. To me, the property is OLD and needs more than a lobby renovation. You gave a fair assessment of the property. 👍🏽

Wow- before this video I always thought Caesar’s Palace was one of the highest, most upscale of the Vegas casinos. For the prices you pay there’s no reason for the rooms to be in such disrepair, a sewage smell in the hallway, or not to be able to use all the pools. What a rip off.

What really sucks is that so many people are unaware of these things until they arrive in Vegas and shell out hundreds of dollars for their room. You, and others writing similar reviews, are doing travelers a tremendous service....letting them know in advance what they can expect. No one likes to be blind-sided with that kind of crap when they're on vacation.

Paying $40-50 in resort fees per night on top of $200 a night and you can’t even use the pool? That is enough to dissuade me from ever staying at Caesar’s. That and the abysmal condition of the room. That resort fee BS reminds me of when hotels continued to charge resort fees during the height of the pandemic even when all of the amenities like restaurants and pools were closed. Anything for an extra quick dollar

Thanks for posting the video. We were originally booked for the Palace tower at Caesars. After watching your video, we canceled and booked the Venetian. The main things that were deciding factors in us canceling was the sewage smell and having to pay extra for utilizing two of the pools.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a class action lawsuit regarding resort fees. I keep reading that hotels are charging extra for so many things on top of the fee so they should be forced to define exactly what the "resort" part of the fee is if it isn't the pool.

Wow! I just checked out of my room at Caesar's yesterday and your review is spot on. I also stayed in the Octavius tower and wondered where that horrendous smell was coming from. There were other parts of the property that didn't smell too good either. While I loved my room, the wear and tear was obvious and it sucked not having a fridge. I paid $199 a night for my room (plus resort fee) and I don't feel as though I got my money's worth. It was my first ever trip to Vegas and I wanted to go big, but I don't think I'll ever stay there again. Great review.

Spot on, Ruby! We met you down in the Starbucks and you were SO gracious, friendly, and accommodating! Very refreshing to be fan of yours and to find you are even more lovely and personable in person! Thank you for being so kind and chatting for a bit. Our room was beat as well; what's up with the shredded headboards?! They need to spend some $$ and update the rooms. Caesars is ridiculous with their pools. Best pool complex in Vegas, so many pools, but only 1 where you don't have to reserve or pay for seating. And don't even bother doing the night swim! The water was filthy and disgusting; we were so creeped out we left soon after arriving. Thank Goodness they opened the pool door that is close to the Octavius Tower; last year they made you hike ALL the way over to the door by the Palace Tower to get into the pools. I've been to Vegas many times on business and stayed at a number of hotels on the strip, and Caesars is my least favorite. It's too spread out so the walking is daunting, the rooms are beat, and everything is super expensive there. Also they are known for having tight slots. So glad you did an honest review; they can't keep resting on their old laurels. Why did they spend money renovating the lobby? Who cares?! Fix up the darn rooms, Caesars! I'll take the Cosmopolitan any day over Caesars. Love ya, Ruby! Can't wait for more reviews!

Ruby you brighten my and my wife's day! We used to travel to Las Vegas about every other month but we had to stop because of age and illness / disability. We look forward to seeing your videos, thank you for all that you do.

That charge for the main pool is such a disgrace, even Nero would blush, absolutely bang on review Ruby ❤️

I work at Caesars and surprisingly you not the only one who has said that they were disappointed in what they get for their money. I'm shocked that there are no refrigerators nor microwaves in the rooms.

From someone who used to go to Caesars in the 70's, the amount of nickel and diming is too much for me to withstand. It used to be high-end, but you weren't restricted. That pool access thing is a monstrous mistake. I had pit bosses give me Muhammad Ali fight tickets when I was playing heavy. Comped meals at the Bachanal. Now they wanna play games with the pool. Well, I don't wanna play games. So we aren't gonna play games no more.

I agree with you. I was a Ceasars 7Star rated player and left for Park MGM. Once El Dorado took over the Caesars properties... they went down hill fast. I noticed the lack of maintenance, poor treatment of their employees and players. The Park MGM has plenty of free chairs around the 3 pools and the casino is smoke free !

Caesar's Properties in general have been in steady and constant decline for the past 8-10 years. They used to be the "standard" by which all others were compared, but no longer. They've been living off their reputation too long and other properties have flat out been better in nearly every way. Their pools are awesome but not if you can't enjoy them.

Caesars properties in Vegas, and everywhere, have gone down shockingly fast in the past 2 - 3 years. I usually stay at Paris, another Caesars owned property. Each time we've been there since 2019 and it has declined more and more, from the condition of the casino, the rooms, and the (almost nonexistent) service. The problem is, the Eldorado people that took over the Caesars brand don't give a sh*t whatsoever. I see a big fire sale coming in Caesars future. Sad. The properties used to be so nice.

I just got married at the Caesar’s Palace this month and let me tell you…
-it smells like sewer in certain parts
-the hotel is very confusing (feels like a maze)
-check in/check out takes FOREVER
-the gambling is expensive
-I was supposed to get a hotel room in the same tower as the chapel but instead got booked for a room in the farthest tower
-the bell hop dropped my cake box that my dad made for me and broke the contents inside of it but instead of letting me know they threw the broken stuff in another box. I didn’t realize this till I got home.
-the wedding was nice but don’t expect them to be on it. Everything they do is very last minute regardless of the amount of money you’re paying.
-some rooms are hit or miss depending on what tower you’re in
-their WiFi/service sucks
-some pools are hot and some are freezing
-you can’t really use your mini fridge at all or you’ll be charged a fee
The rooms are really nice and spacious so if you’re concerned about that then I would definitely stay there. But if you don’t plan to be in your room too often I’d recommend the linq instead
There are some great qualities about Caesar’s but some misses as well
