"Not that I had the skill to do it, but that I had the skill to learn to do it." A truer line has not been spoken!! This resonates so much Andres! I'm going to tell myself this whenever the Imposter kicks in. Love the video. Looking forward to more content and good luck on your journey!

This video is titled UX but there is mostly talk about your eye for the visual, which is great but sounds more like UI design to me. As a UX designer on a two person team the amount of visual work I do is minimal, even though we’re responsible for it. UX is more about the research, the user flows, the empathizing and defining problem statements and managing stories. I spend more time in Jira than I do Figma. Good video all in all but folks getting started in UX should understand the difference between UI and UX because they’re not the same thing, even if sometimes you do both in a small org such as I do.

Bro you got me goosebumps for future ! I'm currently working as a UI UX designer in an it agency company in Bangladesh. It's been almost 3 months and soon the probation period of my internship is gonna end. please do pray for me everyone who is reading this, may the company make me a permanent employee. It'll really be a high boost for my career and my confidence.

Loved the video Andres, you already my inspiration :')

Andres, thank you for your motivation and inspiration! I am exactly at the same point - depressed and looking for the purpose. And it led me to UX design, I am a super visual person and I feel so excited to learn and get into the UX design field. Your content is amazing, I enjoy watching your videos!

“Whether things are aligned correctly, icons, colors…” - sooo me! I hope I will have the opportunities you had while starting out. I’m switching careers and I need every push I can get (like this video) to know that the switch and struggles will be all worth it in the end. What an amazing journey you had! Praying I’ll make it too!

I Love how you involve God in everything you do.
My story is almost similar to yours.
God bless you for sharing this

Thank you so much for sharing this! I was laid off from my full-time job last year and recently started freelancing in graphic design, but it's not quite the right fit. I'm determined to switch to UX design, but only have a limited amount of time, and this gave me hope during a tough time.

This was great, insightful and encouraging. I am transitioning to UX Design, just resigned from my job and been having a heightened sense of inadequacy or cluelessness. I'm at the point where I keep asking myself "This is what I want to do, why isn't it working out already"

Thank you so much!

Thank you for sharing your testimony!! I’ve been crying out to God lately about making the jump to ux design. I have no experience, no ux training ( I got my undergrad in journalism) and a whole lot of imposters syndrome. Your video was an answered prayer, and your videos have been the perfect starting point. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m already so much happier knowing that I’m taking the steps to get there, and that my situation one day will change. Thank you again Andres, and keep the good info coming! 😊

I'm typically being honest, I've never saw any UX designer showing his journey this way, expressing his flaws completely in a normal way. This channel can surely help me to kickstart my UI, UX journey this year; hope to get more content from your side, Andres. Good Luck mate :)

This was a nice twist to all the other “how I became a ux designer…” videos. It was interesting to see more of the business side of it, rather than too much of the technical ux specifics (courses, bootcamps, portfolio). Keep it up! ✌️ God bless!

Hands down the BEST video on this subject I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching for the past 2 years on and off debating. I can relate to the job burnout and loved the honesty about you getting a PIP at work and the awkward as hell phone call. Thank you for making this!!!

astounded at your transparency and how you documented the process. I've been researching ux design for several hours and out of all the content i've consumed, yours was more insightful than all of them put together. thanks for sharing your gift

I was a bit uninspired as of lately with my UX/UI journey. I think I may just be my worst critic at the moment during this self-study period. I think I really needed to watch this video to get back on the grind. It was refreshing hearing your journey.~

Love the entire vibe of this video. I’m so interested in this career path and I’m glad you even included your faith in this as well bc some people are hesitant in doing that. It made me even more confident in your story and how much faith you had to have throughout this process even though there wasn’t a clear path to your road. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to more content from you! Thanks!

I was so happy that I clicked on this video! My journey towards UX design has been very similar; it's very encouraging to see content like this and also coming from fellow Christians. My brother and I founded a startup several years ago and over the years found out that I loved design and over the years have been sharpening those skills to be the best I know I can be in this field. Feeling the encouragement, Thanks Andres!

3 minutes in, and dude you are literally telling my story. I started working as a BA 2 years ago, and now I feel the same about where I am, like wtf am I doing? And.. the reason I clicked on this video is because I was ALWAYS into UX. Man, this is crazy. I wanna connect with you and know more. Cheers.
