I honestly feel bad for you ground dwellers when hammocks are so much more amazing.

I understand that sometimes tents are better for certain trails, but I see such nice trees in the background that would be great for hammocks. I mean you have a tarp deployed.

My last tent was a Z-packs plexamid, but the last three years I fell in love with hammocks. Such better sleep and more versatility. Dutchware gear has awesome stuff. I have multiple and even an ultralight hammock setup that is a pound and that includes tarp and hammock.

Time for you to try something new and get in the know about hammocks and stick with it for a year!

Another awesome video Justin. Thanks for the content.

Big Elbow is much nicer since the renovations. Good tips! Nice to see another backpacking campground nearby and really a good hike that is short and pretty low elevation gain for beginners or as a bikepacking location.

Hi Justin. I’d love to see a short vid on how you setup tarps like the one over the table. Thanks for all the great advice and gear reviews. Keep’em coming. Love from Minnesota ❤️

Umbrellas are great. I take them on every backpacking trip

I have a Wapta and I use the pack liner for the reason you called out. I was waiting to post this comment to see if you called it out.

After endless hours of hiking in rainy conditions in the PNW and elsewhere, I've found the best option to be an umbrella unless it's also really cold and/or windy in which case I'll use my Gore R7 Shakedry. I've gone back and forth between rain chaps and rain skirt, the skirt is my preferred right now due to ease of use and it also functions as a groundsheet, but doesn't work as well in wind. Rain pants are a no go for exactly the reason you mentioned, too hot.

I've only had the Wapta on one rainy hike in the Olympics a couple weeks ago and it was fine, but I wouldn't trust it or any bag to keep things dry as I'm sure you know. You also show one issue I have with the Wapta, which is that you can't comfortably put your sit pad on the back panel as cushion/ventilation and I don't find the hot bonded mesh as comfortable. It's still a great pack though.

Hi Justin I was talking to you about the big Agnes zoom on another video, I have gotten the new pad from them and I can confirm it is a lot warmer and the milar film doesn’t drop - I think it may have just been a bad batch that we got initially

Don’t know where you are. But looks like your out west somewhere. That good it’s going to rain instead of being chased by forest fires so common this time of year.

If you want it to rain you have to leave the rain gear at home…and wash your car before you leave.

I imagine this was at least a few weeks ago - we’re heading out this weekend and I’d almost rather the cool temps than these over 30s! I’m curious if you’ve done the west coast trail before or if you have interest in doing it. It’s definitely on my bucket list, but the possibility of being soaked for a week is a bit of a deterrent!

I have once packed the x-mid pro2+ after rain, not wiping it dry and it weighet in at 1350 grams instead of 680 (all lines and stakes included)...😢

Little known fact, you can pitch the newest hubba hubba 3 person fly first.

I am not sure if the 2p or 1p do, but the 3p does for sure

Hey Justin: Just wondering when we’ll be able to get our hot little hands on one of those nifty wizzy pot lids….? Any updates on that front?

How are you liking the new Nemo Tensor sleeping pad? Is it your go-to pad now?

I have two dcf tents and disappointingly they both mist through when its raining heavily. I feel the rain hitting my skin, yet I'm not wet. Eventually the inside of the fly is soaked and everything in my tent is damp.
