Great point by Scott about cybercab and RoboVan being a "capillary to artery to capillary" transportation system… Very plausible

Love Scott's comment on Cybercab and Robovan teaming to handle mass arrival and departures from sporting events. As he pointed out, the "subway stop" can pop up in any convenient location and since Cybercab and Robovan are all on Tesla's''s AI network, adjustments can be made on the fly.

The Robovan is a mini bus not a van. Needed for transport as a service but focussed on people. What we still need is a van for transporting and delivering goods. A van that can get a standard pallet in and out easily along with individual items. The Robovan just needs a better off-road version to be a camper and they have all the markets covered.

The paradox is called induced demand and yes, even Robovan isn't going to solve traffic congestion which FSD will make worse but it does solve the problem of parking.

I was years ago in Colombia, and I was amazed of the public Transport, a lot of small Buses on every Route coming every 10 Min to bring you into Town. Robovan can change the Bus Systems in City's!

Xai will analyze mass traffic patterns of 100s of 1000s of vehicles and find efficiencies that no human could understand, possibly be given authority to control signals and lights in a large area.

I've been thinking a lot about the Robovan being Elon's solution for the city bus. Picture these running city bus routes, picking up and letting off people on every block. As ridership peaks additional Robovans merge into the route to absorb the passenger flow. As ridership tapers off Robovans return to the terminal. Throughout the day the Robovans rotate in and out to accommodate charging and servicing needs.

I used to be a cabbie and uber driver. I can inform you that robovan and cybercab will really be very successful ….. there were many things going on with small crowds, taxi and uber Lyft would get overwhelmed…. With Robovan and cybercab combined it will work really well. City bus and trams and junk like that are all going bye bye and so are high taxes

Even before Saturn I remember the Pontiac Fiero had composite panels. It was even on display at the Science and Industry Museum in Chicago before it was released.

Based on Scott's insightful description of how Robovan could hand-in-hand as just one layer of a people moving solution, it is easy to envision a stadium having designated "pickup" points so that when the game is over, people can simply board a Robovan based on which pickup point corresponds to their neighborhood/"regions". When the Robovan gets to the/a designated offloading destination, there will be CyberCabs already there to service the last mile(s) for everyone arriving. It's a virtual and "smart" bus system.
Not sure how the inbound flow would work for pre-game but I'm confident it can be worked out, perhaps based on ticket same (which are tied to specific seats in the stadium, or, which parking lot section your friends are for the pre-game tailgate party.

Airports - Robovan takes you to former rental car lot which now has lots of Cybercabs.

There are some cultural differences with cabs in various countries. In Australia, generally, people get into the front passenger seat of a cab/ Uber. I feel rude if i get in the back seat. It's like you are putting yourself above the driver socially.
