Ian McKellen also cried during the making of that scene cause he thought he kept messing up. He felt lonely during that performance. The whole production team including the actors came on set and watched him perform to give him confidence and credit.

Legolas also blinks in the 1st LOTR when Gandalf the grey dies in the mines of Moria... everybody distraught & he is sad & confused & doesn't quite understand the death. Very emotional ❤

I was at a convention a few years ago seeing a Q&A with Sylvester McCoy, who played Radagast, and apparently Ian McKellen was so happy to see him when doing scenes together because he could finally look at someone while acting with them

Ian's total moments on set were so human and relatable. Absolute down to earth response. Most actors float on a cloud of ego. Not Ian. He isn't afraid of letting his guard down. I like Ian. I could talk to him for hours. Not about his work but just life in general. Admiration indeed 😎

Seen the LOTR and the HOBBIT movies so many times, will continue to do so, and will always feel like im seeing it for the first time in theaters with my dad.

Got the extended/directors edition on DVD as a bday gift when i turned 21, one of the greatest gifts i ever got.
