My fiancee's response when I asked "When we were living together in an apartment the fire alarm went off. Your immediate response from a dead sleep was to spring out of bed and announced to me 'I'll protect you, Everything will be ok' "

Well I knew I was going to marry my husband after our first date. But the moment I knew for sure was when I was stuck in my bathroom because I ran out of lady products. (My mum had a hysterectomy and my little sister didn't have hers yet.) So I called him crying because I had a really big test at school that I couldn't miss. Mind you this is the middle of winter in Ohio. He walked 2 miles in the snow to bring me some of his sisters. My mum made him hot chocolate and took him home after they both took me to school. Now we've been together for 10 years and married for 3 with 2 gorgeous children. 🥰

I went to his house to have dinner and hang out. When I got there, there was a box of tampons and a bag of cotton balls on the kitchen counter (we were a new couple). I said “you can’t be buying me tampons...!” as I reached into the box for one bc little did he know it was indeed that time of my month and I had forgotten to bring my own supplies to his house. His answer was “well I didn’t want you to ever have a reason to leave”.

My parents were screaming and yelling as usual. I couldn't sleep. He stayed on the phone with me all night and he spoke in different languages because he knew it soothed me. He kept talking until I fell asleep. After that night, I knew I wanted to marry that boy

He went to an anime con with me and my sister, waited 3 hours so we could get an actor’s autograph, and ran past the security guard to bring us donuts. He’s definitely the one.

We were on a bus ride back from a show choir completion. I had fallen asleep in his arms. I’m a medium sleeper, and the big bumps woke me up. I remember waking up hearing him softly say “ooh oh.” During a really big bump. On the same trip he had some girls stop singing after they were being really loud. They were screaming a tik tok song, and I heard him go “yooo, can you keep it down?” “What, is she asleep or something?” “Actually yes, cause she worked harder than you did today T” I felt like a princess, and I love him so much

This was before we started dating, we were just friends. I told him that I always wanted to see Dear Even Hansen and he without even hesitating started booking tickets and asked me: “Are you free on Saturday?” Best first date ever. 4 years later and we’re engaged.

I knew I wanted to marry my boyfriend even before we were together. We met the third day of freshers week at uni. We were on a Facebook group chat before and agreed to meet up. After that we became lecture buddies and within weeks we were best friends. He took the time to get to know me and I him. The one night that stands out is we went out with the group of new friends we had made on our course and I had a massive panic attack. He’d been talking about this night since we first started organising it. He came and found me and walked me back to the campus. He knew I still wasn’t right so we walked around the campus until 4 in the morning talking none stop. In the end I fell asleep on him in this covered seating area we have by the lake on campus. He sat there for 5 hours in the cold (I had his jacket) and waited for me to wake up. Needless to say I fell hard at that moment. Took him a few weeks to catch up but we got there

"Nah, I really don't want a diamond, I like sapphires more. They're prettier and less expensive. Besides you could buy another gun with the savings"

We've been dating for less than a month but we met in our English class (my second semester in college and his third), and he always tells me with pride, that he fell in love with my smile on the first day of class. I was still dealing with feelings from my previous relationship, which had ended a year prior but hadn't gotten over quite yet. I realized pretty quickly I could talk to him about ANYTHING.

But the two things that have convinced me he's the one:

1) He 100% accepts my acne. He doesn't mind it all, and that has been a huge boost to my self-confidence
2) My dad thinks he's wonderful. The two get along really well and can comfortably talk about politics, and generally fits very well into my family. My dad, very protective, stern, and stubborn, the fact that he has accepted my bf so quickly is just so wonderful and I couldn't be happier

My wife told me decades later that she took one look at me and said to herself she was going to marry me. I wasn't stupid and didn't do anything to disuarde her. In fact she proposed to me. Its 37 years later and we are expecting our first grandchild. What more can I say .

How do you know the person you're going to marry? "You just know."
Never understood what that meant.... until I went to a Middle Ages-themed Christmas Party. It was literally one of those cheesy, "our eyes met across a crowded room, " stories. We saw each other, and it was instant attraction... age difference be damned (at the time, me:30, she:42) and we clicked/talked like we'd known each other our whole lives. Met after New Years, 1st date on Valentine's Day, proposed on St Patrick's Day, married over Memorial Day weekend.
We celebrate 20 years this May. <3

A quick summary:

-be thoughtful. think of the small things in life that shaped you together
-be kind
-give more than you were asked
-be willing to invest your time for your partner
-be generously interested

I think we all probably heard someone say that it's important to give 1% more than your partner does in order to be "better". I think we should at least try to act like this to everyone we meet.
I wish you a beautiful day.

Kudos to the women who recognized a good man when they found one and speaking up about it. I feel there are so many stories bashing men that stories like these are needed to show why there are many off the market right now 😁

We were dating for only a few months, but I invited him to my sisters wedding and I was a bridesmaid. The entire day was essentially filled with so many emotions and he got along with my family so well, I started thinking of our future at that point. Not long after this I got diagnosed with OCD which made me feel so awful and I felt as though I was dying from the constant anxiety, he consistently offered me support and offered to help me in my recovery as much as possible. That was when I really knew I was gonna marry him.
We’re currently 3 years strong !

I met him two years before we started dating, but the literal day before we started dating I was having some serious computer issues with a game we often played together. (We lived in different countries, so it was one of the few ways we could hang out.) It was a big deal to him, so he stayed up all night to try to help me fix it. We were working together for hours and when it was finally fixed it made me think. It made me feel really valued, really appreciated and loved. Our time together meant a lot to him. He didn't even need to say it for me to know.
