Very good, small EDC. Smart choices. I would recommend just one more item....iodine tablets, like potable aqua. If I have to walk any distance at all, safe water becomes paramount and without a vessel to boil it, I need some way to sanitize it. With your kit, I could filter it with the bandana into the small water bottle you provided, then pop in a potable aqua to sanitize it and in 30 minutes, I have safe water. Well thought-out EDC and affordable to nearly anyone.

A poor man's EDC ! Excellent ! This would be a lifesaver. Getting stuck out on the road or woods, with be bad ! Anything that helps will make a great difference ! Thank you for your informational series ! Lone Bear!

Great video. I'm checking out those 1st year mullein plants in the background. Lots of good meds right there.

I love it! And maybe a reflective sticker on the lid! And/or phone numbers written on the top. This is what we have for our EDC earthquake kits.

Lovely kit. Thank you for sharing. Those cabela multitools are so cute. I would also add 3 bandaids to the kit. They don't take up any space, but if you are walking home and get a blister, it can make a big difference in morale.

I had to remind myself that my EDC was NOT a get home bag. I keep a get home bag in my vehicle in case something happens and I can't drive straight home. My EDC is for dealing with small emergencies & daily tasks while I'm away from my vehicle. I keep one at my desk at work and a smaller one that fits in my pocket for when I'm in the field. One of the things I added to my desk EDC was imodium or pepto tablets, as well as benadryl and advil. I found that contact cases work well for small pills. I just write on the lid what's in it.

You have room for chapstick, and cotton balls. Chapstick mixed into a cotton ball will ignite quickly.

An N95 mask (for smoke or dust). A pair of nitrile gloves. A small tube of neosporin.

Great job!!! You are so right about keeping in mind who you are building your emergency kit for. My niece has Down Syndrome and most of these items are inappropriate for her. She does have a flashlight, emergency blanket, snacks, entertainment/comfort items, etc. I carry extra stuff for her that she can't use on her own. In her emergency kit we added things like a toy swiss army knife, so she can feel apart of things. Around her neck she has a whistle and a small solar & hand crank flashlight. My parents are seniors so I want easy to use, quality, and lightweight gear for them, as well as my niece.

In your set up a little heavy aluminum foil for boiling water will fold up flat and pack in the container. Even foil from baking pans can be cut and folded once to unfold and boil water.

Great project! I would put a couple of very strong rubber or cable bands around it and then you can use a small bungee cord that you can attach to the bands to easily carry the case. I am not sure how comfortable that small case would be to carry for a longer walk but hanging it on you with the bungee would keep your hands free. The bands and cord would then be a bonus for making a tent out of the blanket.
I appreciate your content!

Paper table napkins are even better than toilet paper, fit nicely in any kit, and can also be used as Kleenex. They hold up better and don't disintegrate like TP or tissue.

Rejoicing that you are back. Thanks for this video, especially for the reminder about the keychain pill bottle. You can use that to store so many necessary items.

Harbor Freight has a mini folding box cutter. It's very small, well made. It's a useful edged tool. Another mini tool I recommend is the Leatherman Micra. It's very small, well made & totally useful. I've had two. It took me about 10 years to wear out the first one with daily use. I still carry the second one.
