In a previous interview on clever tv she explains it. Daphne is deaf so it was necessary for her to speak with an accent to make her character more real --> the actress practiced to speak with an accent...

@LovePeace569 she's hard of hearing, but it started few years ago and she grew up hearing. she knows sign language, cuz she took it as an elective in high school

only one! there is 32 episodes for season 1 we are only on ep 22! (10- last year, 12 - winter-spring finale, 10- Fall now) they changed it sadly!
