It's clear the product is great. It's just a matter of if they can make the business work.

For the second row at 1:50 try pushing the bottom part of the seat far back to the position you want BEFORE locking the backrest back in place. This is usually how most SUVs work

I get stopped a few times a day in my R1T. People LOVE it. Oh yeah, me too. It's awesome. AWESOME. I had a Tesla S and this is just next level. I mean, the S was incredible and this is that same leap. BUY A RIVIAN, you won't regret it.

For the back seat, if you push the bottom section back first it should go to the previous position, then raise the backrest and it should also go back to where you had it set before. Most manual secos rows operate that way. And they all get messed up if you pull the backrest up first.

I love my Pacifica hybrid. One reason is just the sliding doors are huge and make getting babies and kids in and out way easier. Without worrying about swing out to bash anything in parked next to either with the door or a baby.

Finally a review from women’s/moms prospective. Because let’s be honest. People are not getting this car for off-roading. It’s a family SUV that is super cool.

John - I think that noise is the louvre that varies the amount of air coming in to cool the batteries. A service guy who was fixing a software issue in my truck noticed it and he lubricated it. That made is a lot quieter.

As a Ford F150 lightning owner the best thing I can say about that front hood is it doesn’t sound like a dump truck backing up when it’s opening or closing.

That noise in the front is the active air shutter actuator. If you look though the grill on right hand side you will see it move as you approach vehicle. It just needs a simple spray lubricant like super lubricant or something safe on plastic. Easy fix.

Absolutely agree the build quality is great . Now it’s a race to get more affordable vehicles so the company can make money . Hope they survive as I think
Consumers will be awarded by the existence of rivian .

I don't normally like plugs/sponsors in videos but man those mics are really good.

Also, it's crazy to me how there are plenty of electric vehicles that are way better than Teslas (outside of the charging network), but Tesla still gets all the recognition. Rivian, Lucid, etc.

This is the best well-rounded R1S review I’ve seen. Can’t wait to get mine in 3-6 months Jul-Sept timeframe! The Ankerwork mic works well—I may just have to grab them with your coupon code.

I own some shares in this company and I really want this SUV but I have to wait for a used one in about two or three years. Right now I have an Audi e-tron and love it. The only problem with the Audi is it is very low on technology. It's just a luxury car that you plug up but it is solidly built.

Back when it was introduced I thought the front of the Rivian looked a little goofy, but seeing them drive around town now... it's grown on me. It looks kind of high tech/retro now. I can't believe I'm actually considering one, but I am. The wait for the R2 is going to seem like forever. Can't wait to see that. The 360 on the Lucid Air will spoil you.

For any prospective owners, this is by far the most comprehensive review from an owner's perspective that I've seen on YT for an R1S. Thanks John! (PS: Been a fan since the Nokia days - keep up the great work!)

14:59. That creeky noise is the flaps on the air inlet. Mine had made a similar noise and I sprayed all the pivot spots where plastic touches other plastic and it pretty much went away. I used the same dry lube as for the Tonneau

Great review! With a toddler and a recent newborn, our model 3 is getting a little too tight. Luckily I reserved an R1S pre price hike! Can’t wait for our delivery!

I used to have a 2017 Land Rover Discovery and this is almost a direct comparison size wise. I LOVED the Disco but after 90k miles I had an engine failure. I'm considering a 2016-18 Toyota Land Cruiser but will also have same issue with fuel consumption. I drive about 1500 miles a month about 18, 000 miles a year and in a mouth I was dropping about 400$ in fuel. After an 8 year run it's about a $36, 000 in fuel cost at only $3 a gallon. I really want one of these I think it will really fit the bill.

My disco had air suspension and it made similar sounds when I first get going in the morning.

The Toyota 4Runner perfected the third row. It’s a whole ASMR experience. It should be the benchmark of all third rows.

My wife and I own a tesla. She was running into issues quite often when she would walk up and her phone was not unlocking the car. I ran some experiments, and I found that if your wife, like mine, keeps her phone in a back pocket, then that causes issues with the walk up unlock feature. If you keep your phone in a front pocket, it should work most of the time
