Makes me cry EVERY. TIME. I was practically in hysterics when I saw this in person. Watching all of the puppets come down the aisles and onto the stage was a hell of an experience. Definitely going to go see it again when I get the chance.

The chord progression in this song is one of the most magical ever.

This is how you do a “Live Action” Lion King.

I remember seeing this at the Wharton Center, it amazed me to no end. 🤩🍸

Personally, I think this show has far more meaning than the remake film. Not just because it's adapted with respect to the original film and with the same creative spirit and love, but because of the amazing cultural richness of the costumes and props. And how those costumes and the body puppets re so amazingly adapted to show the actors while maintaining the animal characteristics, the most amazing thing to me.

I love the way that they added to the intro to the song by adding the two male voices into it

I saw this for my birthday in Edinburgh at the weekend. As someone who has wanted to see this for YEARS, and has waited it to return to Edinburgh for 7 years it was truly INCREDIBLE. It wasn’t just a musical. It was an EXPERIENCE. As the number started I couldn’t help but start crying. The amount of work that goes into a musical that has been touring for the last 22 years. The realisation that I was there, sitting in that audience watching the cast walk on stage. Knowing that one of my dreams had just come true. If you ever get the chance go see it, do it! It will be one of the best experiences you’ve spent you money on. It is worth every, single penny!

Edit: saw it again in Edinburgh on Thursday and (somehow) it was even better!

I've attended this 16 times in 4 different cities (the first, being New York City). I always take others to see it. I've had my students perform it for their spring production and I've attended countless of my colleagues productions of it. As much as I love the entire play, I'm good after the opening scene. It is mind boggling each time. I've seen it from floor seats, the mezzanine, but mostly the lower balcony. In my opinion that gives you the most majestic view. Yes, I'm a bit obsessed with it.

I had tears rolling down my face both times I've been able to see this in the London West End. Even watching this clip gives me goosebumps and makes my eyes watery..

My mom took me to see this when I was around 25 and even though I grew up going to broadway shows I was in awe sitting on the isle seat with the elephants walking right past us. One of the best shows hands down

There is something about seeing this in person that is extremely overwhelming in the most beautiful way.

Tears well in my eyes every time.

Before covid, the yaks during the stampede would fill the isles and "run" with the audience. Im not sure what changed this, honestly. It was one of my favorite parts of the show. You felt like you were running right beside simba. It made the experience so real.

But every time they uplift him over pride rock, i bawl like a child.

Still do.

If you havent seen this play yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
