Barry Survives (Guts & Blackpowder)

Well, the creators of Guts & Blackpowder could do that, as far as I know, the only one who doesn't die in the entire story is Jean and the other two NPC's

How to possibly get the alternative ending if they decide to add it:
Scattered around the map are a flintlock, a saber, and a Pouch of Gunpowder and Metal balls, the problem being is that they are scattered in random locations.
Once you have all 4 this cutscene plays out instead, with Barry holding his own before sliding down, he would then help you with defending against the zombies until the ship arrives, you receive a 1.5% Multiplier to your Franc’s along with the Achievement “Facing the Inevitable” if you successfully hold them off

Fun fact Barry wasn’t a officer or line infantry he was a musician and was once captured by the French at the spawn in San but he somehow escaped and his weapons were taken away from him, that’s the reason he doesn’t fight back

This is a good and realistic representation of what Barry _could_ have done in order to survive that, but then again, another man/player has to lower the platform, so _he_ dies instead, paying Death the price of Barry’s freedom.

Barry didnt have any weapons on himself when we met him so he couldnt defend himself and died.

The devs of the Game were actually planning to make Barry live. But his character was to hard to animate so they killed him off instead.

Normal ending: Barry dies
Bad ending: Barry crack his legs and dies

the bomber came from the oppposite direction and im pretty sure Barry had no sabre nor pistol because he didnt have any weapons because he was captured then escaped with nothing but his gear but its nice to see barry survive
