The reason why yhorm is so tanky is that he has insane damage resistance on his legs and torso, his head takes normal damage, his torso takes a little less, and his legs basically take none.

Edit: I also forgot the 100% fire immunity

For everyone who didn't play Dark Souls 3, this is Yhorm the Giant's general info. He's a beast and there's a reason why Morgott did nothing aginst him.

HP: 27, 822
Weak to: Lightning, Dark (not seen in Elden Ring)
Resistant: Slashing, Thrust
Immune: Fire, Bleed, Frost, Poison, Toxic (not seen in Elden Ring, unless you count Rot)

Hitting Yhorm's legs deal reduced damage, hitting Yhorm's chest and legs deals standard damage based on damage Absorption Breakdown below, and hitting Yhorm's head deals additional damage. His head's also considered a critical hit zone, so shooting him with bows and arrows can crit.

Strike: 52%
Slashing: 32.8%
Thrusting: 36%
Magic: 52%
Fire: 100% (Immune)
Lighting: -79.2 (its a negative, so he takes more damage)
Dark: 60%

Edit 1, Example of Damage Reduction of Legs are hit: Rdahn's Medeor. That shit did nothing due to hitting legs. I susspect it also deals part fire damage.
Edit 2, Example of Headshot: 17:15 - Taking a meteor to the face.

To this day I still think it's really funny how this is the only boss to have a full inmunity to an element, not even the Fire Giant is inmune to his own base element.
Placidusax does his ultimate laser beam move and Yhorm is like: "Is that supposed to do something?"
