They should really add artillery smoke. Give you the option to choose between regular arty and smoke arty. Unused option gets timed out so it's not so spammy. Probably have the smoke shells be 105mm size at most or the smaller caliber.

This was my favorite map at top tier I liked playing in the middle and sniping the other two caps now it’s gone :(

Ardennes' big version, South spwan is in high ground and you can only use your first spwan early game and if you spwan again you lose your vehicle right after spawn invulnerability.

ye make all maps flat and open so they are unplayable by themselves and then on top of that add new CAS, new guided bombs, new rocket bombs, etc etc ... and repeat this with every update

Loved this map when it has 3 cap points

The 2 caps is the most stupid thing I’ve seen added in this game. They’re always open to the enemy spawn

I have to say for top tier I'm all for big maps as you have the mobility and the tools to deal with a long range fights granted I agree the fact that there needs to be more cap points and gaijin need to stop removing cover and add more imo

Hi TEC, Your advise and thoughts on smoke shells I am going to disagree with. The use of them should enable your team to push, so get in an area where your have team mates that are unable to push due to sniper locations and fire them off in a way where the enemy has to either expose themselves to find a target or wait. If they wait then the team can push. I have used this alot on Maginot to take C cap. Selfish use of smoke in other then defensive (Holding a point and smoking possible push points) use is not the best way to use them. Also, not enough ppl take them and this includes CCs such as yourself, Justin, Odd, Turny, Ryan, Spookston in vehicles that can take them.
I dont think that all vehicles should get smoke shells but smoke artillery should be an option. GB uses smoke shells on a doctrine level just like it does HESH, Italy also has access to them, I am unsure about the others, and it should stay that way unless there is a doctrine change and the main three start using them.

atleast pre change on the west side of the map people drive forward around the spawn and snipe across to the other spawn and die, respawn drive past the spawn cover and their dead tank and begin sniping again. people want larger maps but they dont want to play. they want to hide in their spawn and laser tanks. atleast with smaller maps people move out of spawn. seems like people forgot Italy

I'm the guy who originally commented and this video is targeted to.
So here are my points.
As I said in the original comment, the smoke shells are only a small get around to the current bad map design and a lot of tanks don't have them so you need to rely on people who have those unfortunately, this was not a solution to bad design. Although I do agree with you on the spaa's issues getting killed at spawn and being hard to traverse the map to get to other points because of the people camping, the issue is still the same as I said before, the problem is not the map being big, the problem is the way Gaijin designs the map, there's lots of workarounds they could do to fix that but simply won't because they don't care or because they actually want the player base to get frustrated who knows, they got their head up their ass.
On the subject of you not being able to influence the battle once you dedicated yourself to a point. Warthunder is a team based game and although people might think otherwise, you ARE objectively influencing the battle and you need to rely on your team to do their job, that's how it is. You can't expect to be everywhere and carry games.
As for players leaving the games on big maps, I'm pretty sure you are referring to premium players who spawn one tank and as soon as they die they leave the game due to only having one tank, unless that's a problem in North American servers because that doesn't happen ever when I play unless for the said premium one tank dudes.
All in all in comes to Gaijin actually doing a proper map, that's the solution. Not just go and cut out big maps like you implied, that doesn't make any sense and having the amount of hours you do in this game, you should know that. Tanks are made for long range engagements, not silly brawls in tight areas. We have SPA's in the game, it doesn't even make sense to play those as tanks let alone playing them at close quarters.

Smoke shells and map pinging when you due are two severely underused strategies.

They need to add ability to change the shells loaded... just like World of Tanks has

Tap once to select it for next shell to be loaded

Double tap to unload the shell and change it to the selected

This is for all tanks that can do this... pretty sure T-72's and similars can't do that without just firing the shell to change it lol

Edit: also add smoke dispensing stuff to CAS so our CAS can drop walls of smoke like Helldivers 2 got smoke stratagem
