I just wait for the evening dew to hit the ground then grab a flashlight and a pail you see them shining on the grass in a field then just reach down and grab them. What weve always done to catch worms for fishing.

i made one today using a wooden dowel and a small wood lathe, the wood lathe didn't do a good job so used a dremel . didn't have much luck in the yard but plan to try again .

Also rubbing the top of a wooden stake with a flat piece of metal works but this is way better.

Any object on which a consonant sound can be caused will cause the worms to come out. A drill with a switch on the hammer does the same thing.
