Lara is one of the most empathetic people I have ever witnessed.

I’ve seen this many times and find it extremely moving each time.
Lara’s mother is the last face in video. She passed two years ago.
This was very brave of Lara as she appears stripped down and very natural. No makeup or fancy hair. She did this one in honor of those suffering with dementia.

This is the one aspect about Lara Fabian that always fascinates me... her capacity for empathy and compassion. That is why she can convey the message so well that is in a song. It's a brilliant video. The montage of faces nailed how it feels, I believe, to be in this situation with a loved one day after day. So understated, everyone trying to be strong and stoic, little swallows, averted eyes, brushing away the bangs, tightly pressed lips the only outward sign of inner turmoil. Brilliant too of her to appear without makeup and then have her face morph into her mama's.
I cried like a baby when I first saw this vid - which happened to be very close on the heels of losing my own mother after years of caregiving.
Fabian has a phenomenal.gift and authenticity as a songwriter as well as vocalist.

Hello Lara's mother had Levy's body disease, a kind of Alzheimer's that makes you even forget to eat and slowly end up dying, Lara made this song for her mother but also so that we can talk of this disease

That's what I LOVE to see and to listen, not empty songs, not fake emotions and not imitation of something - and Lara is the one who take a hard subject like this, and reveal it in a song like this. This video is so honest and gut wrenching. I hope you have a chance to look up the lyrics... they are so beautiful and true.
No matter how many times I watch this video, when the young woman breaks down in tears near the end... I can’t help but break down as well.
This song is for Lara’s mom Louisa who suffered from one of these horrible diseases and finally succumbed to it a few years ago.
I’ve seen a few videos of Lara signing this live. It’s so powerful and sad.. she just sits down, closes her eyes and basically rocks herself while she signs to get through it. 💔
I would love to see you react to Lara’s incredibly emotional performance of Je t’aime live in Paris in 2001... Lara was having a difficult time in her life and the crowd, along with her music director and pianist give her a surprise and gift of a life time. It’s turns out the best one of the most emotional performances ever for any artist.
For something not as emotional but equally amazing, you could watch her performance Mademoiselle Hyde (ideally one from her Kremlin concerts) OR react to the music video. Lara is always better live, however that music video is a masterpiece worth watching!

Thanks Matt for reacting to this song! I usually prefer Lara's live performances, but this video is one of the few that must be watched on screen first. The simplicity of unfiltered, raw emotions in their eyes and on their faces delivers a gut punch and it finishes you off with the combination of the lyrics and Lara's voice. Both the images and the voice stays with you long after the final picture fades away. Lara always eaves you in tears in one way or another. My other top favorite official videos are 'Immortelle' 'Llora' 'Mama' 'Par Amour'.
