I love this piece but I'll admit it's probably not the best place to start with Xenakis...so if you can't make any sense of this maybe try with something like his orchestral works like Metastasis or Pithroprakta first? His percussion works are also widely performed and I think could help anyone interested in Xenakis wrap their head around the sort of rhythmic stochastic dimension of his music, if the piano is too dry...

Fantastic piano piece! The jagged rhythms in Herma almost remind me of Nancarrow. He didn't seem to compose much piano music in this style, besides Eonta.

Skip to any point in the video and it’ll sound exactly the same as what you were just listening to lol, this music is really odd. I’m seriously struggling to understand how this is more than just some ink splatters on the page.

What I don't understand is why is this crap notated. If someone just plays some random high and low notes, they'll get something that sounds exactly the same - do-it-yourself xenakis. Please, someone, enlighten me.
