The white latex or "milk" that oozes from the skin of a papaya fruit contains enzymes like papain. Papain is a protease enzyme that breaks down proteins into smaller peptides or individual amino acids. In industrial applications, papain is used in meat tenderizing, brewing, and other processes that require protein breakdown.

In some traditional medicine practices, the latex has been used to treat various ailments such as digestive issues or wounds. However, it should be noted that the raw latex can be an irritant to the skin and eyes, and some individuals may have an allergic reaction to it. Therefore, its direct application on the skin or ingestion without proper knowledge or guidance should be avoided.

An enzyme named papain is extracted from it.. we use it in biotechnological field to separate the proteins from blood.. I followed the same procedure to extract the papain during my University days
Edit: actually i had to use it for my project paper. My project was on comparative study of antimicrobial properties of chicken heamoglobin peptides of broiler chicken vs local chicken against E.coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. I had to separate peptides from heamoglobin and for separation i need papain.

Por experiencia propia también quiero comentar que la leche de papayas deshace las berrugas de la piel, simplemente hunta con la leche de papaya la berruga lo hace todos los días y en 15 días o menos las verrugas desaparecen de la piel. Espero que a alguien le sirva mi comentario

My parents are farmer in the 80s, we always avoid the papaya white latex getting on our skins when we are picking off the tree. The white latex is very acidic and cause your skin to itching and burning, redness.

my friends wife was having defficiency of white blood cells, at first he crushed green leaves of papaya and added some clean water and gave her that water for 6 weeks twice a day, she get healthy by this method.... experienc no 2.. i got diarhea for 4 months througout, no medicine was working, i use to go to toilet minimum 6 times or more, i bought papaya from that friend, and i made its milk shake a little sugar added, though i am diabetic but just for good taste, i made it a little sweet. and having just 2 glasses of juice at one time igot rid of that diarhea, after 1 week i did the same. and its now 1 year that i am feeling well.
