Buck vantage Select Lock Failure

This is just an update to the Buck vantage Select in the Paperstone handle review I did. The liner lock has failed miserably on this knife. It no longer locks up tightly and any slight pressure on the spine causes the lock to fail. This knife is going back to Buck. I can no longer recommend this knife unless the problem is remedied. Thanks for watching.

I was just thinking about buying this, but I am glad I saw your video. I know Buck has a lifetime warranty, but I rather not deal with all the return crap. I'll stick with my Cara Cara.

100% agree. That was why I said it was a possible common issue. If you use the knife as intended the liner lock should be fine even with this fail. It is only under extreme circumstances like tameshigiri or when using a folder in real self defense that this test should be an issue. If that was the case a full, or in the least a 3/4, fixed tang is the tool of choice. Not a folder. Still nice video and I learned a lot so thank you. :)

I had the same model and had the same problem. It would close just tapping it against my arm. Then I tried my Bucklite thinking a lockback would be stronger. Nope... same problem. A little more force but easily failed. I'll never buy Buck again.

Ah that sucks, had a few cheap knives do that to me.

wtf buck! concentrate your efforts on quality an durability instead of goofy trends. Been out of the knife scene for a decade or so and this is just dangerous. these new ''knives/toys'' are garbage. the last folder i bought was a benchmade pinnacle, it has never failed me, but i do of course realize the jump between $30 - $130 but still there should be no excuse for knives of this caliber to fail. if buck keeps going along this path i see bankruptcy in their future.

Watched your video and thought of the time my Skyline folded mid cut on me. Did the same test with the Kersaw Skyline and got the exact same results. Are you sure this is not a common issue with liner locks? I have to send my Leek back to Kershaw, its a frame lock that just got over used to the point that the Speed Safe quit. I will try this test on it when I get home.
