I don't think you're right about the product being discontinued. It was out of stock for a long time, but it's back in an improved form, same product, Distance Carbon FLZ. Thanks for the video, I couldn't understand the ridiculously obscure visual instructions that came with the poles, but your video has sorted it out completely for me.

Hi. I'm on the fence between carbon and aluminium version.
Since it's really expensive gear i want them to last longer so i'd prefer aluminium for better durability.
But if carbon version is sturdy enough to last me years though...
I'd like to think myself careful and gentle when it comes to gears. But these are trekking poles that supposed to handle some level of beating.

Hi ! Backcountryedge.com doesn't work "Access denied"... Today, my pole got stuck in a root while I was going downhill. And the whole pole got off from the handle ! Now only the string is fixed inside the handle !...How to fix that ?? Thanks

Are these trekking poles compatible to use with the Big Agnes Scout 2 Ultralight tent?

A quick search reveals that the straps on these BD poles fail. BD sells replacement straps for the poles, but instead I suggest that they be redesigned to not fail. This step would save BD customers significant time and money. Specifically, I suggest that the small piece of cord attaching the strap to the pole be replaced with one of the stronger, light cord materials available today. BD responded to my review, said "sorry, " but said nothing about fixing the problem. I believe that a company with many decaded of developing cutting edge technology for mountain sports equipment can successfully use a small piece of cord of sufficient tolerance. They might try, for example, 3 inches of Dyneema cord, or 3 inches of an alternative that is less expensive, but possesses sufficient strength.

Hi, I bought these poles last year, tested them hiking in the Dolomites. Negative result: When reaching muddy or snowy territory, the poles inner kevlar lines slipped out of the carbon stick, so I had to put the poles back together....tried the inner cog to tighten the resistance, but without a good results. Any tipps for that problem?
