In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Despite Claire's best efforts, the wedding is a fiasco, with family tensions mounting and relationships fraying. Meanwhile, a planet called Melancholia is heading directly towards Earth... This film is incredible. Probably one of my top ten favorites of all time. It depicts depression better than any movie I've ever seen. The cinematography, music, pace, acting all incredible. I feel terrible for Kirsten though because she could've won the Oscar for this had the Director not made those comments in Canne. Real pity.

In 2018 I was seriously depressed and thought of watching a movie. I randomly saw this movie was free in an app n watched it. I got more depressed feeling like really why am i living when anything doesn't make me happy? The climax gave me goosebumps.
