Now imagine rather than collecting milliWatts of solar energy on the surface of earth
You create have an orbiting collecting above the earth atmosphere in space collecting Billions of Watts of electrical energy 

then it can be an infinite source essentially either in space or for the whole planet and all its populations needs.

That's better than all renewables souces of energy at the earths surface.

Given the collector is permanently facing the sun its only issue is getting energy to surface even high losses in distribution don't matter.

I can only imagine the noise our sun emits. We truly are so insignificant on scale to what’s out there. But as a species we are getting there. Nuclear Fission in roughly 50 years? That’s pretty amazing imo. Humans kick ass these aliens finna learn about us!!! ✊🏿💪🏿❤️

Are solar flare and sun wind same things?

I think the core of the sun is metallic hydrogen which is conducting electricity resulting in a magnetic field. I also think the core of the sun is extremely cold + high pressure. The magnetic field thaws the metallic hydrogen from a solid - liquid to a gas, and than to a plasma - solar winds.
