Hi Dan, I want to thank you so much for your videos. I’ve only just heard about TMS, but im convinced it’s what I’m experiencing. I have what I’ve called for 10+ years a “mystery foot” that swells on the top of the foot randomly and is worse in summer. Sometimes it causes pain and sometimes not, but I’ve had imaging, and other tests - nothing shows up. Unfortunately I think I’ve done a good job of convincing my brain that I have tissue damage that will never heal. But I’m starting a new conversation with the brain and I can’t thank you enough.

Wow the more I think about this mind body connection I’m blown away. I know too much stress can make me break out in hives.

This was amazing. Thank you. Always had the fear because a lot TMS books say TMS doesn't cause inflammation. Makes me much more confident!

Thank you. There are so many things that scientists are learning about the brain and how the body works.

Dr David Hanscom talks about how stress induces an inflammatory response in the body. The central nervous system is the brain and it extends to every part of the body. It can cause bizarre symptoms anywhere.

Franz Alexander in his classic book Psychosomatic Medicine (1950) feels that Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) definitely has mind-body roots in the operation of parasympathetic nervous system. Cf. p. 67. Alexander also feels that hypertension has its origins when expression of the fight-flight survival response is blocked. You go a level deeper than Sarno's TMS theory and things begin to get very interesting, do they not?

Thanks for this Dan! Perfect timing as I was wondering last night about how often when I have a bad migraine, the eye on that side will have a visibly redder than usual vein--and I guess other people will migraine will sometimes have almost a Black eye or drooping of one side of the face. I'll also send this to a friend dealing with a skin condition and possibly RA. Thank you!!!

What about inflammation on the bladder neck seen in cystoscopy? It’s only a small amount but it’s causing a lot of pain.

When pain symptoms are present, I can now say with understanding and clarity that “there’s not a damn thing wrong with my body” 😄 (In the past I used to think my body was injured/permanently damaged). Saying that there’s nothing wrong with my body feels true, authentic and it’s very helpful. BUT when it comes to skin issues - itching (highly distracting/aggravating, distressing), redness, lumps, I feel like I cannot say this. (And I also cannot authentically say ‘there’s nothing to heal’ or ‘there’s nothing physically wrong’ etc).
Dan, I keep trying to figure out how to apply your concepts to this particular skin symptom (which I believe IS TMS), and in doing so am keeping fear and attention on it. I'd like to ask is there anything you can help me to get clarity/understanding on, or to help me to reframe this? Unlike the pain stuff, I feel a lack of clarity around the skin stuff and also difficulty dialing down the fear and distress with the itching. Thank you gorgeous person ❤

Dan do you think fibroids could be TMS? I have read they flare up under stress and are common with women with childhood trauma, abuse etc. They do show up on a scan.
