Aside from the non-hybrid 1.6 PureTech, this is the only engine one should get. And it's a fine engine as long as you don't ask too much from it. Avoid the hybrid variant as well as the 1.2 PureTech at all costs, those are a complete waste of money and are in no way clean for the environment. Also, should you decide to go with the diesel to keep for a long time, pouring in 50ml of Liqui Moly's AdBlue concentrate additive per 10L of AdBlue is a great way to make sure it lasts a long time (25ml is recommended per 10L, but doubling that won't hurt anything and these engines just barely sip AdBlue, so a 250ml bottle of additive will last quite a bit). I drive a 308 II 1.6 BlueHDi and I love it, the 308 III is so much nicer, so I have no doubts it would be a nice car to have as long as you don't get the bad drivetrain variants or expect the good options to be more than they actually are - nice and simple cars for not too demanding drivers. As is the case with any car, don't floor the engine while it's cold and don't shut it off immediately after a harder run before it gets a few minutes to cool off, manually turn the start-stop ON when you know you need it, service it regularly and it'll last. My 308 II 1.6 BlueHDi is at just over 220k KM and is still wonderful to drive.

Man kann den Motor auf bis zu 165 ps und 350 - 380 Nm tunen, aber man sollte einen größeren Ladeluftkühler verbauen lassen und beides dann per Einzelabnahme eintragen lassen…. Vielleicht noch einen Getriebe-Ölkühler einbauen lassen 🌼

engine is very efficient and with 8 speeds is good for low speed up top 150 cruising and city driving....of course you cannot blast in the autobahn

It looks nice, but the engine is weak, barely reaching 190-195 in reality. My old W203 had 129 HP and reaching 210 215 quite easy.

Something's wrong here... my 2015 Clio Wagon have better consumption and similar performance with 1.5 dci 90hp. So for 131 hp should go much faster. And 9 years of progress are not visible. So something's off about this car.😢

someone noticed it consume basically same as 1, 5 tsi on golf caravan with 116hp and on 180 and probably 200 way more just like 2 seconds slower acceleration
