Hello T Anon, I apologize for any confusion. We know that this method converges because the search range continues to get narrow with each iteration (as explained at 7:19). I found the actual value of the root with a calculator and I also confirmed that the method converges using excel.

I have created an excel sheet that shows the first 200 iterations and would be happy to send you the attachment.

if you decide to use different notation and letters than convention, please make it completely different. All the books and videos talk about the function g(x) which you represented as h(x) while you have another function with the name g(x)! I wasted significant amount of time.
