For little league and new umpires that’s ok. The older you get and more seasons you’ll learn less is more. You want to save your breathe especially for longer games or doing multiple games. Saying stRIKE on looking strikes and hand motion like throwing an axe on swung strikes is how our commissioner taught us. Strike 3 us to you just keep your head and body forward so you can pay attention to what happens afterwards.

How to call strike 3 as an MLB Umpire.

First, make sure the batter is supposed to strike out and cross reference how many strikeouts the pitcher is supposed to get, gotta keep the betting markets making money.

Second, if the batter and pitcher are supposed to get strike outs, make sure the ball is thrown in your general direction and yell "strike 3."

Third, be ready to toss the batter if he so much as thinks it was a ball, after making sure it's ok with the betting markets.
