Hawke is probably one of the best actors of the past 20-30 years. It's insane that he could star in films like *Gattaca, Sinister, First Reformed, Training Day, * all of his Linklater collaborations, his sf/fantasy work with the Spierigs, and I always buy into it. He always feels plausible and driven and emotionally clear.
