I purchased my EGO mower 9 years ago here in Australia and I'm still on the original battery. Other than changing the blades each year I have never had a single issue. These things are amazing .

hi James + Josh, You can't beat the Mower Olympics, plenty of go and with battery tech coming on well, it wont be long that battery mowers will be a garden favourite in stead of petrol and mains powered. Great review on the EGO lawn mower, catch you soon take care.

As an owner of the 52cm cut, i dont want a wider machine, but it would be nice if they updated it with the tech from this new model. And apply it to some smaller cut models .

your right about the grass bag needed to be shortened to avoid kicking but i like the 25kg one to avoid rutting and getting into awkward gardens but defo a nice step up being wider and mulch funtion wait and see if they bring out a roller version

I still have the 2017 model and I like how the drive motor sounds vs the new ones. The new ones have such an annoying whine to them. But the dual blades do cut better. Never used the bags, not sure why anyone would since mulching is the only way to go.

I just picked up the aluminum deck EGO (LM2206SP) yesterday. I also have the plastic deck (LM2135SP). There is a massive weight difference between the two with the alum deck considerably more heavy...which I like. The plastic deck is fine, but it just feels very light, not planted when you mow and tends to bounce a bit while mowing due to the light weight. The cut quality of the plastic deck is average to slightly above average...not perfect by any means. But, the plastic deck mower is VERY easy to push if you choose not to use it self propelled. The new aluminum decked mower has a much more powerful motor, the cut quality is outstanding, it's physically larger when you stand behind it compared to the plastic deck model. BUT, you'll want to use the self propelled all the time. Pushing this mower manually is no where as easy as the plastic deck model. The 2206 has bigger front tires, wider deck, taller motor. Everything is larger...in a very good way however. It feels very planted when mowing and does not bounce around at all like the 2135 does. ONE MAJOR UPGRADE for the aluminum deck is the height adjustment. It has 8 settings where the 2135 has 4. Four height adjustments is a joke actually. It's never the right height IMHO. The 2206 has much better height adjustment and it far superior to the 2135. OVERALL, get the aluminum deck 2206. It is far superior in every way.

Would you say it is worth it investing in the LMX5300 over this one? I'll be doing professional work with it but the price difference is so significant, given that the 5300 costs a lot more and comes with NO battery compared to this one costing less and coming with a 10ah battery.
I don't mind paying more for the LMX5300 but i need to be sure that it will really make a difference compared to this model? What do you think? You've tried both of them...

Great stuff lads, as an ego fan myself I have plenty of their gear, is that lawnmower the 2135?I have that one too but this new upgrade looks great and the onboard mulch system now looks really good, fair play to ego they are constantly improving their gear and that's why I like them so much, would be great to see you do a proper review of their new vacuum and also their music speaker if possible lads?

I just got a lm2230sp. It's really loud compared to my old, smaller greenworks 40v. So loud i wonder if something is wrong. A little quieter than a gas mower, but not much. Does this seem right?

We looked at these and my boy tried one at the Groundsfest (pretty sure we saw you both messing about on the ride ons at the Ego booth) last year when we was looking to replace our old beaten up husqvarna lc353ivx(never again), but we had already invested in the stihl battery system with their smaller mower and their long reach hedge trimmer.Really thought about it but went for the Stihl RMA 453pv as thought probably best not to have a load of different chargers on the van. Would still love to try an EGO out for a few weeks.

I watched another video on the LM2236E-SP and they said 2 items that differed from your review. 1) they suggested that the LM2236E-SP was a commercial version, and 2) it has a larger bag capacity (which seemed to be true, based on their yard mowing). In any case, I’d go with the older LM2244-SP, as the kit comes with 2 batteries, for basically the same price, even if they are 6.0a.
