After driving this through three bends, following by a long straight and not changing gears ONCE, do you have any idea how PAINFUL it is to hear him say that he's excited to "push it to its limits"?

He went through 3 corners and didn't even change gear once. What. A. Muppet.

Oh yeah a guy who can't even drive a manual car will definitely be able to accurately review a car...

Honestly Verge, stick to tech news. Having coverage in motor news and politics is reducing the credibility of this outlet.

Man drives a manual Ford Mustang and he doesn't even know how to manual? This is why aliens won't talk to us.

I couldn't listen to a word he said after he admitted he can't drive a stick. Why Verg why?

When I went to the press launch for the GT350 it was sad and pathetic to hear from the Ford Performance team and see first hand supposed journalists and car people not be able to drive a manual car properly. The most embarrassing part of this video is that the Verge was invited by Ford to a press launch for a car based on the their "size" and they send a guy who can't drive a manual car but can't drive period. This is the modern world of the media outlets. Total Joke.

Dear The Verge.
If you "review" a supercar like the Ford GT, which is absolutely NOT an average person's car, then don't put an average person behind the wheel that doesn't even know how to drive a manual. Get Ken Block for what it's worth but this was terrible!
Thank you

Conclusion of Video:
Guy can't drive a manual;
The Ford GT is different from a Mustang.

Really TheVerge? Your attempt at car journalism is mediocre to say the least. Get REAL car guys to talk about cars. Refer to Brian Cooley from CNet.

Or just stick to tech.

yea, driving a mustang is like eating vegetables.

In Germany nearly everyone drives a manual car :D

There's half a dozen other videos that came out about Ford GT from professional motor journalists on the same day. If you want to get a pro driver's perspective, you can watch those.

This one happens to be from the pov of a regular guy. Why not enjoy it for what it is instead of demanding it to be the same as all the other ones out there?

Variety is the spice of life. Enjoy it. Why hate?

Here is the Bottom Line: If you have a chance to drive the Ford GT, YOU TAKE IT.
It doesn't matter if you are a tech journalist or can't drive stick, YOU GET TO DRIVE A FORD GT. This is not a review, this is a car video on the Verge, so just chill out.

Please get real car people for these videos Verge.

How is it possible to have a driving licence and not know how to drive a manual car?

How the hell can someone in America have a license without even knowing how to drive a manual transmission car? Btw that transmission is not even manual, it's sequential, you just have to pull two paddles.

1. Press clutch pedal
2. Shift in to appropriate gear
3. Let the clutch pedal out smoothly, feeling the engagement
4. Understand that you've missed out your whole life

I really enjoyed the video - but perhaps have the title inform us that this is a 'normal' person driving this rather than a petrol head. Without it, not being able to drive manual feels a little inexcusable.

That said, +1 for more cars on The Verge.
