Man, when he said we live in a society that tears things down instead of talking about the good was so accurate. Everyone wants to hate on something they didnt create or were involved in. This car is beautiful

Jay’s reviews are so real and pure. I love that he calls out other reviews for talking crap about it for stuff that doesn’t matter like it’s too noisy etc.. that seems to be the trend of modern day car reviews - they point out faults where there is none. “This toaster is great and all, but it doesn’t make coffee!”

Jay- "This car is like champagne, I only drive it once a weekend, Its not a everyday car"
Also Jay- "I put about 1000 miles on it in the first week"

The aero engineering behind that car will probably be my favorite until the day I die. Also it's "story". Ford did this out of left field for the 50th anniversary of winning LeMans "just to show them we still can". This car not only cuts through the air unbelievably good (notice it's main body is shaped no different than land speed record cars), it's design allows the car to gain exceptional speed in a draft. After it makes it's pass, it doesn't return the tow to the car now behind. This car functions more like trying to draft 3 motorcycles. It dumps a LOAD of the air it goes through directly behind it into the face of the car behind. It's truly brilliant. Another neat fact about it, it's foot print is as large as it gets because it was too slippery. They still needed to achieve some downforce so they made the surface area of the car bigger to allow the rake of the car to still have enough there to give it downforce. Race cars generate downforce two ways (from GT cars to prototypes). First are aero packages. Splitters, dive planes, gurneys, wings, etc. The next way is the rake of the car (nose height in relation to tail height).

Edit just to add a little more: While they could have kept the smaller footprint and increased the rake even more, that's dangerous. Rake doesn't just affect downforce. It primarily affects weight balance on each axle. If you rake the hell out of a car, it will be exceptionally "twitchy". Too much weight forward will make for a very unstable car, especially under braking at turn in. It's all about balance.

Too bad many missed Jay's remark about (paraphrasing) that we live in an era where the focus is on tearing something down rather than appreciating the accomplishments.

This guys owns a 2017 Ford GT and doesn't have an iPhone 7. I love your style Jay, you're a truly car's enthusiast, hope one day I get to meet you.

When Jay did his goodbye on "The Tonight Show" he impressed me the most when his reference to his legacy. He showed all the people who were part of the show and their families, especially the children and he also said, " I am leaving the dance with the same girl I came with" or something to that effect. It could be that he pays attention to little details, like " if your going to have a pantie in the trunk of the GT make sure it is your wife's or you will loose half the car", :) . But comedy aside, he is a thoughtful, down to earth, man who has a brilliant clarity of thought and love's America and is proud of what America has done and what she is capable of. I see him finding joy where you can get it, like the smile you see on his face when he is driving his Miata or his Ford GT, "That won Le Mans" shows me happiness comes from with in.

Most car journalists are snobby wanna be elitists. But J is literally a blue-collar millionaire and I love it.

Gotta love jay's reasoning. *I got it in black and orange because.... I liked it in black and orange.* Plain and simple.

The AM radio option is what really sells this car.

Man, these vids where it's JUST Jay and a machine are my fave. No other people sucking up all the oxygen with their jabber; just Jay sharing his immense knowledge and passion.

Jay is the man..."for 10, 000 dollars I can lose 10 pounds" rather than option the titanium exhaust

I was never envious of someone like Jay, who can afford a squadron of collectible cars - and a huge garage where they can properly be stored. He's worked hard over the years his money and he should be able to spend it like he pleases. After all, he does have his own YouTube channel where he shares the cars with an admiring and approving public. Hats off to you, Jay!

This is such a great show... Jay being Jay... a regular car guy who loves cars. Obviously it is professionally produced, lighting, sound etc, but its Jay just being one of the guys. Too cool. Thank you Jay

Jay Leno is probably worth $500 mill, yet he saves on the $10, 000 exhaust addition on a 2017 Ford GT!!!! This man is pure class, man. Any other rich person would have been like "pshhhh 10 grand? add it to the tab! What else? ADD ALL THE EXTRAS idgaf if it cost me 1 mill extra" lol. Love that he still saves up here and there and actually thinks if it is worth 10K or not.

In an era where its fashionable to spit on America I’m glad to see a mainstream guy be so proud of his country and the accomplishments Ford has made not only in the automotive industry and racing scene but also the world. Good video jay
