【Melodic Rock/AOR】Prophet - Sound Of A Breaking Heart 1988~Emily's collection

【Pls look at the top comment first】One of the representative names coming out from New Jersey, Prophet originally played as a cover band, performing the classic hits of Queen, Boston, Kansas and Styx. Going through frequent line-up changes in the past few dacedes, the well-known members as we know are displayed in this music video and their classic album "Cycle of the Moon (1988)", which is the second album from the band. If this is your first time to hear of Prophet, I suggest you check out all their three records between the two vocalists, Dean Fasano (died in 2009) and Russell Arcara and the respective works from them two.

To feel hard rock with big keys, Prophet is a desirable choice. This track "Sound of a Breaking Heart" is one of their representative works with the music video full of 1980s vibe, featuing Russell Arcara on vocals, who was the vocalist from Surgin. Ruled by keyboards, this song is written in melodic rock style while Prophet is a hard rock band overall, keeping on strong-beat rocking all the time. As we know, almost all the hair metal/hard rock artists have their meloidc tunes as people's favourites, the great hits of the artists and their favourite repertoires.

Now Prophet is a name of past with no newly-released record in addition to "Asylum: The Very Best Of Prophet", and almost all the former members went on their new projects and released solo albums after the third studio album "Recycled" was released. The last reunion of Prophet was in 2012 and next year this song was re-performed at Firefest by Russell Arcara. Besides, don't forget Ted Poley, the voice of Danger Danger, as he was the former drummer from Prophet in their self-titled debut (1985), featuring Dean Fasano on vocals when Poley was 21. Moreover, Surgin is another materpiece that should never be overlooked, especially their debut "When Midnight Comes (1985)" featuring Russell Arcara on vocals, released in the same year as the debut from Prophet before Arcara joined Prophet. In the next few days or weeks, the video from Surgin will come soon for all aor fans to enjoy the sense of nostalgia by turning back time to 1985, the days before I was born.
