Looks like my last dog, an Australian Shepherd named Liberty. She lived 14 1/2 years and was the best dog i have ever had. She has been gone for a year now, and i still miss her everyday. She was always like a puppy, even when she grew old, even though she did not have the same energy level.

Callie looks so much like my Aussie, but with shorter fur. Those eyes! My girl is almost a year old, but we still use gates, closed doors, and occasionally her crate to limit her access to the whole house. Mostly, she just goes into her crate with the door open, just to lay down and have her own space. She's so smart, I've got to get better at keeping up with her training!

Mr Zak.... Please don't ever stop making videos! I just got my first puppy as a 28 year old man and I have been watching your videos for weeks now. Your great at teaching and look like you love what you do... Thanks for putting out quality stuff!🐶

Please make a video about your own dogs and how did you find them and how long did it take to train them

I just completed my purchase buying your book and I'm looking forward to receiving it!

You cannot imagine how much of a help you are making videos on dogs! I thank you for that!

I have a Greek Shepherd puppy (almost 3 months old) and as this is my very first dog, I am afraid of making mistakes.

The biggest challenge for me is training my puppy not to bite once an adult.

Best wishes to you and your channel!

It's very important to control a dogs environment and catch problems before they occur. Thank you for making this video.

Hi Zac, I’ve just purchased your Dog Training Revolution book and can’t put it down. It is so well-written and easy to understand for novices yet contains a fantastic amount of advice and guidance. A huge thank you. Feeling much more prepared for my whippet puppy’s arrival! 😀

By the way, those play area/long wall gate things also work AWESOME for fencing off a single no-go area. We used one around our centrally located wood burning stove and kids and dogs were kept away while having access to the rest of the house.

I had to do this with my dog's harness. (Put food around it and calling him a good boy as he eats and touches it) He was growling at it at first. But now he loves it!

Really needed this! We've just moved in with my parents and now they're 4 dogs in the house. Buddy seems very off and I'm not sure if it's the new environment or not

Ahh! Thank you!! I've always heard that the crate should be 'big enough for them to stand up, turn around and lie down'. . . .When my puppy outgrew her last crate, we looked at the options and decided to get the BIGGEST crate available (the 48x30 'great dane' size.). She was house trained by then - and had NEVER gone in her crate. So why did she have to be crammed in there? She's only the size of a border collie (though QUITE a bit heavier. lol) so going into this crate, she has lots of room to stretch out and lay however she likes while sleeping. Sure it takes up more room, but I have a board over the top of the crate so I can use the top of it as a table/shelf so the space isn't really lost. Its really nice to hear someone who knows dogs saying a bigger crate is not bad!! Thank you. And yes, I figure that at some point, she'll learn to go in and out on her own, and eventually won't need to be locked in at night. (I hope!) She does 'go to bed' on command and knows its 'her' safe, cozy place. So that's a start. :)

Tried crate training, it didnt work for us. Our puppy is a really clingy girl and has to be with us all the time (which we have no problems with I might add) so we trained her the other way, sans crate, in the kitchen over night with the cats, radio and side light on, a baby gate across the door way and when she got too big and was potty trained we gave her the rest of the house. She now sleeps very happily either on our bedroom floor or on the landing at the top of the stairs and is great guard dog lol... its where she wants to be, we dont limit her movements in the house at all. Oh sure furniture and rugs have been chomped on and the shoes sometimes but she is just happy to be near us. Its all about what works :-) Besides, we dont have room for a crate... tried a play pen idea when she was a baby but she ate it... ! 9 months old now, no problems with potty runs or being left alone, so all good. Crates arent for everyone :-)
