0:32 "the harder you press down on the gas pedal, the more gas you use." no way, really? I never would've thunk!!!

Idk if changing the audio left to right to left save the energy in the headphones/ speakers

Just cruise and don't press gas and when you feel car slows down just press the gas slightly. It saves gas than aggressively pressing the gas.

When I use eco mode on my fifth general RAV4 and I have also observed and learned that I can optimize my fuel economy on the highway, by not going faster than 65

Eco Mode is best used when travelling long distances on the freeway at a set speed.

slowly coasting to a red so it turns green before you stop is the best way to save gas

Eco mode should only be used on highway when you driving at consistent speeds. It’s annoying when you trying to speed up or join highway lane.

I’ve been checking “the old fashioned way” by tracking the miles from a fill up to fill up. You should do the same . They claim one thing and your results could be quite different. The claims for the “auto stop/start” is mild to begin with, and when you check manually you will, like I did, find that the “stop/start” isn’t a game changer.
I think it’s (stop/start) really “wishful thinking”. You add up the lack of significant mileage improvement, with replacing the starter more frequently, or a “second battery, will likely make the stop/start less attractive. With all, the performance enhancements like “turbocharg” the engine may need to run longer to “cool down”.

Eco mode should help save some gas in stop and go local driving unless you have a lead foot since it reduces the throttle response. It shouldn’t make much difference at constant highway speeds. Has is mostly wasted (most energy consumed) during acceleration. Slower acceleration equals less fuel used and better economy.

My car is rated 27mpg but i always beaten that to 30+ by switching to Eco mode and following every speed limits

I have a Honda CR-V and a RAV4. Both get better mileage w/o dumb mode. Even on the highway on cruse.

On my hybrid Camry, freeway driving mostly with Uber and Lyft. Eco I get 50 mpg and normal I get 46 mpg. So it does help, but you have to understand with eco you can’t floor it like usual.

Really depends on the car, some force a real eco mode, which eliminates fuel while coasting, and prevents mashing of the gas pedal, graduaul acceleration and very conservitive shifts.

Depends on the car really, my Sentra’s eco function doesn’t change throttle response or anything, it just shows a bar on the screen to show you how much throttle you should apply
