Scroll Chuck Jaws 101 for Woodturning

Показать описание
in this video Scroll Chuck Jaws 101 for Woodturning, I demonstrate and explain the different types of scroll chuck jaws for woodturning and the kind of projects they are designed for. My demonstration is based on a variety of Record Power jaws for the SC3 and SC4 chuck but most of the information is transferable to other chucks with similar jaws. Note that these jaws are completely interchangeable with Teknatool and Sorby Patriot chucks.

As an affililiate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Disclaimer: Record Power is not paying me for this video but did provide me the chucks and jaws without cost for me to use in this video.

Mike thank you for helping me out. I sent you a message that I had a bad experience with customer support with a 1-800- number. They no longer have that U.S. number. they are going to replace my chuck so thank you very much.

I have watched this video many times. Every time I consider buying a new set of jaws for a new project, I come back to it. This is an excellent comprehensive review of gripping pieces.

Mike, Thank you so much. Albeit a 5 year old video, the knowledge still rings true, especially the safety aspect associated with using the right jaws for the application.

Thanks Mike for your insight. I've been turning for about 1 year and you and others have taught me so much. Thanks again!

This is a great video. The biggest thing I was happy to learn about was the fact that the companies jaws aren't specific to that company's chuck. But I learned a bunch of other things, as well.

Thanks Mike! I have been turning for just about 3 years and I'm getting to the point where I'm realizing the limitations of my 50mm jaws. This was very informative and timely for me. I was also curious about Record Power jaws, so win-win-win!

A very informative video - especially for beginners i.e. me! Thanks for posting.

Lucky you to get to play with so many different jaw sets. Obviously some of these interchangeable jaws wouldn't be safe on a smaller chuck like a Nova G3 even if they fit the slides. Great video with lots of useful information. Thanks for posting Mike.

This was a very helpful video. It wasn’t until you pointed it out that I noticed the difference in “pen” vs “pin” jaws. Maybe I’m the only one who was confused but thanks for clearing that up. Like you mentioned this is a video I’ll revisit before my next turning project. Thanks.

Well Mike, I decided to go with the PSI Chuck's due to the budget and I must say I'm not regretting it (yet). I got all the things I needed and I'm pushing out a couple items a day. I have some green Maple, Walnut, Black Cherry, Ceader, and Elm. I'm turning all sorts of bowls, boxes, platters and vase's. After I get some cash I'll get the Record Power chuck. You have deeply inspired me and peaked my interest. Keep these good videos coming!

Thank you very much Mike! I always enjoy your videos and find them extremely informative and helpful. What I just realized is that unlike most sites, you actually reply to viewers posts - even though they all prompt viewers to post questions and comments. I find that extremely annoying and inconsiderate. I applaud you for taking the time to educate your viewers and engaging with them further by actually replying. As a result, I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge, insights and experience!
