The kayak is a 2011 Native Watercraft Inuit 13.5, and I absolutely LOVE it!

Here again, this is not the eskimo roll, that is far too advanced for me at this point, and I don't wear a skirt anyway ;-) Here is simply the bail/flip and self rescue as taught to me from a very nice and extremely patient person. The sound is very muffled because the GoPro is in the waterproof case with the floaty backdoor. I didn't break any world records here, nor was I trying to, I was simply being taught how to survive in this situation, to help me with my drowning phobia. It worked out very well, thanks to awesome instruction.

This is in Lakeside Park, Chautauqua Lake near Mayville NY.

The sea weed gets caught up into the water intake on jet ski's. We have to be real picky where we're riding, especially near the shore, and the shallower water towards both ends of the lake. The only way to dislodge the sea weed from the intake is to get off the ski and pull it out. Now the reason it's in the intake is due to the fact that you are probably sitting in a lot of floating sea weed, meaning when you get off the ski, you are now sitting in it also!

How deep was the water? Looks like a blast minus the seaweed

1. don't hit enter before you're done typing. 2. I have to put up with that stinking sea weed every summer, thanks to all those property owners around the lake, that feel they need to fertilize their yards, because it also fertilizes the sea weed as it runs off the yards and into the lake during rains. 3. I have been known to have pee'd in Chautauqua Lake, more than once!
