Aching back, neck… Red eyes… Headache… Sounds like the end of a typical day of technology multitasking. Check the phone. Write an email. Post on social media. Send a text. Problem is, while today’s technology suite makes your work much more efficient, it’s MUCH harder on your eyes. Why? Eyes simply weren’t made for blue light, screen resolutions, fluorescents, smart phone screens, high beams… And if you don’t think Digital Eye Strain affects you, think again. More than 70% of us have Digital Eye Strain. Worse still, very few of us realize that with some adjustments to our computer screen time, lighting, ergonomics and technology habits, those Digital Eye Strain symptoms can be virtually eliminated. One of the best weapons available today? ZEISS lenses. Yes, that Zeiss – Carl Zeiss. The historical leader in lens technology and the makers of Academy Award winning camera lenses and microscope lenses for Nobel Prize Winners is also the worldwide leader and innovator in corrective eyewear.

reduce eye strain tip:When watching television, it may be easier on your eyes if you keep the room softly lit.
When reading printed materials or doing close work, try to position the light source behind you and direct the light onto your page or task. If you're reading at a desk, use a shaded light positioned in front of you. The shade will keep light from shining directly into your eyes.

Our eyes have muscles too and will need some exercise to prevent or at least minimise the strain in your eyes. Follow the "20-20-20 rule, ” as what most doctors prefer to call it. Every 20 minutes, spent 20 seconds focusing on something 20 feet away. When you are doing so, you are relaxing the focusing muscle inside the eye, minimising strain and fatigue.
