You actually just need Lockpicking on level 6 to get the Luck of the Drunk perk combined with Lasting Lockpicks. Just drink a beer or savior schnaps, wait for the drunk effect to kick in and every door / chest is yours.

You can get a quest form Zora (The Sport of Kings) where she will give you the best saddle in the game plus some coin. She also gives the horse to race with so you don't have to do anything but a fun easy quest, for the saddle

5:00 Just a note you can't do this anymore on PC, the chest was replaced with a very hard lock to match all outer vendor chests.

You can find the 4 bags noble saddle on one of the first horses you find. After rescuing Teresa from the rapists, just look at the three horses. You'll find Olena, the horse with the best stats among the three (Also the only named one) and two other unnamed horses. One of them has a common bridle and a noble saddle.

Kill the cumans, kill that horse, loot the saddle off it and mount Olena. Then ride off towards Talmberg.

If you weren't going for an OP Henry when leaving Skalitz, you're most likely going to get fucked through the ass if you tried to kill the cumans. In which case, just forget Olena and take that horse instead. Make sure to take the gears off him before riding towards Talmberg.

I went for Sleipnir because cooler name, slightly cheaper, and only thing it's really lacking in compared to Jenda is Stamina and it seems to have enough of that anyway cause I usually only gallop full speed for bursts. Haven't decided whether I'll still grab Jenda but definitely gonna get me that gear. Had no idea one of the best armour pieces in the game was green. I've been sticking with a lesser green one.

This might need an update soon, as in a DLC there are now better horses, all of them purchased in Pribyslavitz: Shadowfax, Agro, and Shadowmere. Every singe one of them references to other games/movies.
