I am A HORSE LOVER...TO THE BONE!!! I have Secretariat (my dream horse), and War Horse but the views of the others sure did make me want 'em too!! Keep the horse movies coming. They are the most stunning, majestic, proud, vibrant and loving animals ever! God be praised for making/creating the horse! p.s. I love ALL animals...just have horses as my passion!!

I am very shocked that The Horse Whisperer wasn't in the top 5, it is such an amazing movie, I'd put it at top 2 following The Black Stallion (1979) (my all time favourite movie).

I walked past the house in which War Horse was filmed. Where is 'Lonely are the Brave' Kirk Douglas movie from 1962, superb film

Reaching back a bit, but The Black Stallion (1979) is a great story and some of the most breathtaking cinematography I've ever seen. Also, I would add my vote for Hidalgo, but someone in the comments has already mentioned it. Maybe a ten best? Would like to add that I like the format of this video, clean and straightforward. Not cluttered with a bunch of commentaries and opinions (looking at you Mojo and a few others). Allows the movies/trailers speak for themselves.

I have horse movie that you may consider for your next list, "Hidalgo"
True story of the best long distance race horse in the world and rider. Both were "mixed blood" on mustang and the other half American half Lakota, not your
typical race horse and jockey, but both have more heart and speed than any "pure" blood champion. Excelente movie with Viggo Mortensen, doing stunts scenes, what a rider and actor, also Omar Sharif in one of his last performances. It is a Don't miss horse movie . ENJOY IT

There are great ones on there but personally I find Phar Lap equal to Secretariat and Seabiscuit. I've watched all of them including the other ones on the video above and NOTHING beats Phar Lap, Secretariat and Seabiscuit.

Actually this is a very great list of the top five horse films. I thought for sure Secretariat was going to be number one. I'm glad that Seabiscuit was number one. The two jockeys who rode Seabiscuit were from my home province of Alberta, Canada. I will have to check out The Mustang and Lean On Pete. Some other horse films that are note worthy are Phar Lap, The Cup, Hidalgo and Spirit: Stallion of The Cimarron.
