Antonov-AN225 Is Making a HUGE COMEBACK & SHOCKS Everyone! Here's Why

In 2022, the world's biggest airplane, the Antonov A225 Mriya, was completely destroyed by Russian forces during their attack on Ukraine. The damage was so bad that many thought this would be the last time we'd hear about this giant plane from the Cold War. However, the Ukrainian government decided not to let it become just a part of history. They're planning to bring the A225 back, here's why.

The AN225 is the "notre Dame" of aeroplanes. Just like the 747 is the "queen of the skies" & the A380 the king...
It's worth saving (and modernizing) the AN225. Aero plane builders can help saving this iconic aircraft. I hope it'll happen...

Once I was stuck in front of this behemoth at Manchester in an A320 we were both taxiing and to say it was big is an understatement It was magnificent. After all the speculation of there being another incomplete version of it we are still no wiser as to if this will be rebuilt. I for one would love to see it.

What was not mentioned in this video is that the AN225 was designed and built in Ukraine by the Antonov Design Bureau in the western part of Kiev.

If you haven't spent your life in aviation, especially LARGE aviation, you wouldn't understand the inate NEED to rebuild this aircraft. This is the first I've heard about this. I worked on aircraft for 50 years, 747 included. I remember when the AN 225 came to MSP once. I walked all around her. Stunningly beautiful. I'll be searching for where I can send some money to help rebuild her !

Airbus industries already said they would help with construction and avionics.
The world needs this load capability. For instance, the Dakar rally used to book it for the duration of the event to carry round most of the equipment it uses.

Rebuilding the nation is more important, obviously the people should come before the plane, but the Antonov 225 is important too. It seems like it's almost more of a national treasure than a utilitarian piece of equipment. Having the largest aircraft in the world seems like a point of national pride, and the symbolism of the rebuilding would probably be good for morale.

Back in 2016, a FPV group from Florida called Rotor Riot, got to not only fly FPV drones all around the outside of the AN225, but got to go inside it and "play around" to! The video is on YouTube. Some amazing footage never seen anywhere else.
