Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the epic adventure "Thor" spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

I expected a marvel movie where you just enjoy the jokes and actions and like the hero and ended up with an unhealthy obsession with Loki.

I've come to really appreciate this film after reading Thor comics. It's the one that gets closer to the ideal tone to me. Everything that makes Thor a great character to me is in this movie and I love how shakespearian the dialogue feels with the Asgardians characters.

I wish we could blend the designs of Ragnarok with the color grading, tone and direction of this film.

That would be the most perfect Thor film.

I still consider this film to be pretty underrated. I get some people found it boring, slow, or whatever, but I very much liked the the tone the film went for as a Shakespearean superhero drama film. It's well acted, the characters are memorable, the music brings me to tears (Patrick Doyle is such an underrated composer), the pacing moved rather smoothly, and there were nice bits of humor sprinkled in among many other things. Now does the film have flaws? Yes, but so do most movies. Personally I would have loved to see a montage of Thor and Loki's adventures over the years growing up, and a lot of scenes cut from the film should have stayed in because they actually added a lot more to the characters.
