I just realized, after watching this trailer for the 4th time, that Jane says “what’s it been 3-4 years?” then Thor says “8 years 7 months 6 days!” That’s because Jane was “blipped” away for 5 years. So to her it was that amount of time, but for Thor it was 5 years longer. Pretty cool detail.

Thank you, Marvel! I finally saw this movie tonight, and I cried TWICE. I have metastatic (stage 4) breast cancer too. One of the hardest moments in my life was telling my husband. I had to pause the movie after that moment when Jane told Thor, and my husband and I held each other while I pulled it together. It was such a relief that Taika Waititi allowed for a good heap of levity in this movie, or I'd have been a sobbing puddle of feels by the end.

If anyone ever reads this, please encourage regular breast exams!! They woulda CURED my cancer had it been caught sooner. I waited until, like Doctor Jane Foster, I was tired all the time. It didn't hurt and I wasn't sick, just made me super sleepy. Don't wait for symptoms; please do regular exams.

I was so impressed by the performance of Christian Bale. Like wow man, he was so good. It's a shame they made the film a little too goofy. Could have been a bit serious.
