Superglue bonded with Baking Soda: Using Baking Soda to increase bond strength made with Superglue

Adam has a broken kitchen mixer blender part. It is a small plastic part which would be very difficult to source a replacement for. He knows superglue can hold together some plastics but with varying strength. He has heard that when baking soda sprinkled over an area that has been superglued that it increases the strength of the bond. He wants to try it in fixing this mixer part. He has tried other very expensive bonding solutions with a powder component but his superglue cost less than a dollar so if this works it would be a very cheap alternative that is easy to hand.
