She's a Tanuki, and I thought that was really cool because in Japanese culture Tanuki have a slightly mythological side to them kind of like foxes (kitsune). In Japanese folklore and mythology Tanuki are tricksters and can shapeshift

The two friends are Tanooki and a Kitsune, these animals were known to shapeshift in Japanese lore/mythology. Which was really cool when they put in the mythology into this show :D

The Good:
Great visuals
Amazing character design
Amazing worldbuilding
Really unique, political premise
Diverse characters
Some interesting plot ideas


The Bad:
-Too many plot points at once
-Direction feels kind of weak at the start, not much really happens which is weird considering the limited amount of episodes
-Closing all of the plot points at once made them all feel underwhelming in the end (The Church was such a great idea, but Nazuna being revealed as the leader so soon was a bit weak imo)
-Very predictable at times (Ogami's identity, Alan)
-Sometimes the allegories were a bit on the nose (WW2 with concentration camps)

Overall a very enjoyable anime but it leaves me wanting more episodes and more focus on one or two plot points that tie together instead of so many weaker ones. Considering Netflix often renews shows, and seeing as this one is really popular, I'm expecting a Season 2 down the line. I can't wait for them to explore the worldbuilding a bit more

I enjoyed the show, but the finale was kinda stupid, like the villain was probably the biggest let down of the show. The villain's plan is kinda dumb, which was disappointing because the way he went about executing the plan was kinda brilliant.

Its odd how im the complete opposite when it comes to Beastars and BNA, i had a good time with both series and even though the ending of Beastars was mire satisfying, i would rather see more BNA because i enjoyed it more

I assume anime was originally supposed to be longer, but something happened.
Like, i mean, first 6 episodes are pretty slow progressing
And then in next 6 they dump all the characters, story arcs and facts on our head, and ending just slapped on top of it.
Story also falls apart after this dump, like they rewritten it to fit into 12 episodes instead of 24, hm.

For me I kinda wish the final conflict Alan was a godly human and was the perfect opposite to silver wolf. Like Alan was an imortal human having the blood of thousands of humans infused with him while ginrou had the blood of thousands of beastmen infused in him. And as dark as It sounds but I wish Alan's main plan was to make beastmen a permanent enemy of the human race and eradicate them all.
