Knowing medic, i can imagine him pulling off a Made in Heaven just because he can or wants to

In the Jojo canon, [Made In Heaven] just speeds you and time up, however you still have your normal stamina, so if you can run 300 yards before getting tired, with [Made In Heaven] you will just run those 300 yards very fast, but you will still get tired.

So when Medic gave several runs around the world, [Made In Heaven] made Medic able to do it that fast, however the stamina to run several times around the world was purely Medic's part, and [Made In Heaven] did not boost up his stamina, which means that, in fact, that Medic could easily run around the world without stopping nor getting tired at all, it would just take way too much time.

Ludwig's plan made total sense to me. By knowing exactly when the teams will be autobalanced, you would be able to prepare for the inevitable and thus archieve peace of mind.
